Don’t let the name fool you, one weekend in Fiver and you’ll feel like you’ve won the lottery. Fiver has certainly got the minimalistic aesthetic down to a tee, with crisp lines and calm grey and white tones matching the birch ply and pine wood perfectly. His fixed double bed has been fitted by the backdoors so you can stargaze in the evening and feel the warmth of the sunshine in the morning without having to move a muscle.
Fiver’s kitchen is the perfect place to prepare meals, there’s plenty of cooking space and a two burner hob. In the Summer, you can slide open the side doors, set up the picnic table and chill out with a cold beer from the fridge. In the Winter, or if the weather turns, you can light the wood burner and enjoy the well-insulated living space. This truly is a camper van for all seasons.
Additionally, the solar panel and split charge system mean that you'll be ready for off grid adventures whatever the weather. You won’t be short on storage space either – there is a cupboard under the sink, two under counter drawers, two big spaces under the bench seats, two huge under bed drawers, and to top it off, a massive garage/boot space for whatever it is you need to take on holiday with you! About the area: Fiver lives by the sea in Newhaven, East Sussex at the foot of the South Downs National Park, with great transport links to Brighton, Gatwick and London. We are a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the ferry terminal connecting us to mainland Europe. There are many beautiful camping destinations nearby including the South Downs National Park, and Ashdown Forest.
Cooking Equipment: There is a great kitchen and cooking space with lots of worksurface area. 2 mugs | 2 bowls | 4 beakers | 2 plates | Kettle | frying pan | 2 pots | colander | garlic crusher | sharp knife | wooden spoon | spatula | serving spoon | tin opener | cafetiere | chopping board | bottle opener | grater.
Water Facilities: Fiver now has an updated permanent 70lt tank in the back which can be filled using a hose pipe directly into the tank.
Audio Equipment: Radio in the cab with Bluetooth, aux-in, USB and radio.

Conversion Story: Walking into Fiver, is like walking into a beautiful wooden cabin, that just happens to be hidden away inside a Mercedes Benz Sprinter camper van! Fiver was originally a water utilities van and came complete with road signs and an inch of mud in the back! It was certainly a labour of love for Harry who spent 10 weeks and a few sleepless nights making his vision a reality. His attention to detail and minimal aesthetic give Fiver a smooth, clean and comfortable feel. The upholstery was down to Ros using hand-dyed twill, European laundered linen and her Grandma's sewing machine. Fiver is the result of our love of camping, good design and Harry's passion for den building. We wanted the van to be stylish, spacious and simple to use after one too many rainy holidays in Wales tripping over each other in a Mazda Bongo! We love to get outside as much as possible but if the weather turns you can light the wood burner and enjoy the well-insulated living space, which feels roomy even with the table out. The fixed 6-foot bed means the kitchen is fully functioning even if one of you has decided to have lie in - our main aim being that you don't have to re-arrange the furniture in order to make a cup of tea! The solar panel and split charge system mean that you'll be ready for off-grid adventures whatever the weather.
