Adorable Adventure Van For Sale!

Calling all solo adventurers!

Meet Kirk, a beautifully fitted out boho van for one. Kirk’s owner Tegan built her from scratch with the aim of building a mini home on wheels to explore our beautiful country in. Having explored much of New Zealand in the van and shared it with Quirky customers, she is now reluctantly offering it for sale, seeking new caregivers to love it as she has. Want to take a look around? Click here to take a virtual tour through this beauty with Tegan.

Tegan will accept offers circa $16,000 NZD. Having only been fitted out in 2022, Kirk is in great nick and comes with all the up-to-date paperwork. Here’s what you need to know…

All about the vehicle

Kirk is a 2009 Toyota Liace – petrol, automatic – with 183, 173 kilometres on the clock.

Kirk has the following paperwork…

  • Rego until 25/12/2024
  • WOF until 31/05/2025

Let’s start up front …

In the cab there are 2 belted seats. There is also a stereo with Bluetooth connection, an Aux and USB input. Kirk has an interior height of 1.3m, laminate flooring and windows with back curtains for privacy.

To the kitchen!

Kirk has a cute countertop area with sink and electric tap. To keep your food fresh, Kirk has a 16 litre 12v thermoelectric cooler/warmer that runs off the solar. For cooking, she has a slide out unit from the back (sheltered by the rear door) containing a two-burner gas stove and baskets for food storage. All the kitchenware is part of the deal too, and she has a fire extinguisher for safety which is located underneath the kitchen shelving.

For dining or wokring, there’s a built-in desk area that can be used even when the bed is made up which is super handy if you prefer a more fixed-bed approach!

Sleep time…

Kirk has a clever layout to make the most of her petite dimensions. The seating/sofa converts to a bed that is the size of a standard single bed (90cm x 190cm) and has a comfy foam mattress for a great night’s sleep. Kirk will also come with her blanket, pillows and electric blanket.

The power system

Kirk has an 80ah 12v leisure battery charged via a roof-mounted 150W solar panel (and also while the engine is running) which then powers the fridge and lights. She also has a 150 Watt inverter for charging your devices.

Kirk has a solar panel on her roof, which feeds the leisure battery inside to power the lights and charge small devices (like a mobile phone or laptop) through the inverter. And a clever feature we love: Kirk has an inbuilt sound system with Bluetooth speakers so you can enjoy your favourite tunes!

Added extras!

Kirk also comes with her outdoor table and chairs, so you can whip up your meal, then sit back and enjoy it with a view!

Is Kirk self-contained?

Kirk is certified self-contained (CSC) for one person under the blue standard until 7 June 2025 (personal use only) and 7 December 2024 if rented out to customers with Quirky. From these dates, she can only camp in paid camping areas (campsites, KiwiCamps, DOC camps etc).

Kirk has 23-litre fresh and grey water tanks, and an electric tap and sink in the kitchen area. The portable loo is stored under a bench seat behind the passenger seat for easy access. To use the loo at night, one of the bed squabs needs to be flipped up to create space to use the facilities.

Recoup your costs by renting out your campervan with Quirky Campers

We’d love to keep Kirk in the Quirky Campers NZ collection for hire. You could be recouping your costs when you’re not using it and potentially break even in less than 2 years… all while you have your very own bach on wheels!
