Morrison

Location: Morrison lives in Papakura, about 20km (25 mins drive) from Auckland Airport and about 35km (40 mins drive) from Auckland CBD. If you’re driving your own car, it can be safely parked at the property (off-road) while you’re away.

In The Cab: 3 seats in cab up front (with 3-point seat belts for driver and one passenger and a lap belt for the centre seat).

Kitchen Area: Morrison has a clever design boasting three slide-outs accessed from the rear door; a pull out kitchen, which includes gas stove and bottle, the electric cool box and a storage drawer. He comes with all the kitchenware you need to cook up a storm. The interior height is 1.2m and to dine inside you simply convert the end of the bed into a bench seat, pop out the pull-out table and create a seating area perfect for two.

Living/Sleeping Area: Morrison has a comfy double bed measuring 130cm x 190cm. He's insulated and has thermal curtains to keep out the chill. Note: we list bedding and towels as Extras at the booking stage in case guests prefer to bring their own. There are plenty of storage areas and Morrison has a gorgeous glamping vibe with plush furnishings, cool decor and ambient lighting. Morrison also comes with some books and games.

Water Facilities: Like all Quirky Campers in NZ, Morrison is certified self-contained. There are 25 litre fresh and grey water tanks and hand pump tap and sink in the kitchen area. The toilet is stored under the sink in the cupboard and pulled out for use.

Electrical/Lighting and Audio Equipment: Morrison has a 230V electrical hook-up (for use on powered campsites) so you can use the mains sockets to power or charge appliances and devices inside. Morrison also has a solar panel and leisure battery so you can go off-grid and still keep your food and drinks cool and power the reading lights and USB ports. There are also portable battery-operated lights that double as torches.

Type of Heating: Insulated and comes with a small electric fan heater (requires 230V). Hot water bottles can be provided on request too for the cooler months if preferred.

Outside: Morrison comes with an outdoor table (adjustable height), two chairs and an outdoor rug. You can also add an awning with tent to more than double your living space and provide you the luxury of somewhere to stand up under cover!

Conversion Story: Morrison was lovingly created by Christchurch-based couple Emma and Patch so they could enjoy beautiful road trips around New Zealand. They love Van Morrison, so included one of his lyrics on the inside door panel. However, with a planned move back to the UK they had to sell and Morrison's new owners Amy & Nigel have relocated him to Auckland and put their own stamp on his design while keeping the nod to Van!
