About the Campervan
Location: Boho lives in Mount Eden, a central suburb of Auckland just 3km (10 mins drive) from the CBD and 17km (25 mins drive) from Auckland airport. If you’re driving your own car, it can be safely parked in an off street private car park.
In The Cab: 2 seats in cab up front.
Kitchen Area: Laminated countertops and generous sink with electric pump tap – and hot water! There’s a 65L upright fridge/freezer and for cooking, there’s an in-built 2-burner gas stove and even an airfryer! Boho also comes with all the essential utensils, pots, pans, knives, crockery and cutlery, coffee plunger etc. as well as pantry staples such as spices, olive oil spray, soy sauce, vinegar, coffee and tea bags.
Dining/Living/Sleeping Area: Dining/Living/Sleeping Area: Boho has an internal height of 1.85m – so standing room for most people. There are two comfy bench seats, the driver's side sofa can be extended widthwise to form a single bed (0.92m x 1.9m) – perfect for the solo traveller who can then still enjoy the van without the need to pack the bedding away to take a seat on the passenger sofa! Or that set up can be used with twin beds suitable for an adult and a child. Alternatively, the seating can be converted into a very generous sized bed (1.78m x 1.9m) – perfect for a couple (and enough space even if you’re just friends!). So many options. Note: we list bedding and towels as Extras at the booking stage in case guests prefer to bring their own. There is also plenty of storage space over the sofa, over the cab and under the bench seats… and even a hanging space. What a luxury! You won’t be short of entertainment either as Boho comes with Scrabble and other games.
Water Facilities: Like all Quirky Campers in NZ, Boho is certified self-contained. There’s a fixed 76 litre fresh water tank with external filler and a similar sized grey water tank (also fixed) with waste attachment and hose to empty waste. Boho has the much-coveted separate toilet and shower cubicle and is therefore freedom-camping ready.
Electrical/Lighting and Audio Equipment: Boho has a leisure battery charged via the engine when driving, LED lights in skylight as well as over the sofas and over the bench and a 2000W inverter for charging devices and using the airfryer off-grid. She also has a 240v hook-up and campground power cable. And just in case, a portable jump starter (no other vehicle required) and battery charger.
Type of Heating: Insulated but no other heating besides cab heater. But Boho’s owners are planning to fit a diesel heater in time for the cooler months in 2025.
Outside: Boho has a huge Thule awning for shade and comes with camping chairs, two side table and a solar shower pack.
Conversion Story: There are few reasons I bought this van. I have a rescue dog named Happy, a blind toothless Pekingese who loves adventures as he sees the world through scent. I hired a Quirky van and took Happy to the Coromandel, and he loved it. He was very active with all the new scents and we had such a fantastic time that I decided to buy a van! The other reason was to re-live the holidays I had as a child, staying in our caravan at Arkles Bay. Long days swimming and relaxing. I named the van Boho because of the ethos of the Bohemians – to live with a free spirit. They were arty, poets and creators, adventurous and intellectual. It reminds me of the actors, artists and poets in Paris in the 1920’s. Boho’s interior design is fresh, colourful, and full of textures. Whenever I step inside I smile. I hope you do too! – Debra
