RosyG’s kitchen is a cook’s paradise, complete with an oven and grill, a three-burner gas hob, loads of bench space and a nifty flip-up table. The large fridge/freezer will keep all your goodies fresh, while the big sink makes washing up (or even laundry!) easy peasy.
When it’s time to unwind, RosyG’s bedroom setup has you covered. Hang your clothes in her mini wardrobe, draw the blackout curtains, flip on the mood lighting, and let the ceiling speakers soothe you into blissful relaxation. Her fixed double bed means you can skip the nightly setup. And you’ll stay toasty warm wherever you roam, thanks to RosyG’s wool insulation and diesel heater.
What about storage? RosyG’s got it in spades! Her garage space is huge so no need to travel light here! Plus, there’s extra storage under the couch seats for anything you want to access from inside.

About the Campervan
Location: RosyG lives in the Penrose suburb of Auckland, about 10 mins drive from the CBD and 15 mins drive from the airport. If you’re driving your own car, it can be safely parked on the street/driveway while you’re away.
In The Cab: 2 seats in cab up front; reversing camera; stereo with CD player and audio inputs.
Kitchen Area: RosyG has a great set-up with large fridge/freezer, integrated gas hob, grill and oven and large sink unit with heaps of beautiful timber countertop space. RosyG comes with all the utensils, pots, pans, knives, crockery and cutlery you will need – plus some pantry basics.
Dining/Living/Sleeping Area: RosyG has an internal height of 1.8m – so standing room for most people. The bench seating and removable table create a spacious dining area opposite the side door so you can dine with view. At the rear of the bus is a fixed bed with super-comfy mattress which is queen size in width and about standard length (150cm x 185cm). RosyG has insulated walls and ceiling with blackout blinds for privacy. Note: we list bedding and towels as Extras at the booking stage in case guests prefer to bring their own. There is also plenty of storage space accessed from inside and outside.
Water Facilities: Like all Quirky Campers in NZ, RosyG is certified self-contained, suitable for freedom-camping, and has the much-coveted separate toilet and shower cubicle. There’s 120 litre fresh water capacity and 90 litre grey water capacity (easily filled and emptied with hoses) so plenty for off-grid living!
Electrical/Lighting and Audio Equipment: RosyG has a leisure battery charged via the solar panels on the roof. This powers the fridge/freezer, lights and inverter for charging small devices like phones and laptops. RosyG doesn’t have a 230v hook-up but it hasn’t needed it… she’s got oodles of battery power.
Type of Heating: Insulated with a diesel heater. For comfort in the warmer months the roof vent provides additional air circulation.
Outside: RosyG comes with chocks for levelling when parked up, camping table and chairs plus a couple of fishing rods!
Conversion Story: Being creatives and foodies we were on the search for a bespoke house bus that catered to our older-self needs and our English bull terrier, RosyG. Hence the name of our cute bus, RosyG. You don’t get the 4-legged furry companion but you do get to experience our amazing country… slowly!
RosyG is a smooth ride with all the comforts of home. She has tinted windows and curtains to shut the world out if you need to. You have an ensuite with toilet and shower ready to jump into when the need arises, always set up and ready to go. Just like our double bed, always made up ready to relax and chill out while backed up with barn style doors opened to enjoy the amazing scenery. A wardrobe of sorts, with 3 shelves, keeps what you need handy.
Our kitchen is wonderful to cook in; open the sliding windows to delight in the views while you prepare your favourite dishes which you have foraged or caught. Abundant bench space with the side flip-up table beside the stove. A good size oven to cook in as well. The fridge is a big size with a real freezer which is all run from the solar power energy so you can go off grid anytime. Two lots of pantry cupboards hold all your canned and dry food you need. A lovely big sink to wash the dishes after, or just pop the cover on and go!
RosyG has wool insulation within the ceiling and walls winter – along with a diesel heater – to keep her cosy in and cool in the summer. Speakers in the ceiling and mood lighting set the scene.
The garage is a fabulous space where there is extra room for a surfboard, your suitcases and treasures that you collect along the way. There is also more storage under the couch seats.
We really enjoy the simplicity of the interior of the bus and the warm glow of the plywood. She is easy to keep looking good while enjoying her delightful warmth of hospitality. Have fun always – Lee & Caroline
