Step into Danni’s bedroom, and you’ll find a comfy oasis designed for total flexibility. By day, it’s a spacious living area where you can kick back, relax, or entertain the new mates you meet on your adventures. By night, it easily transforms into a cosy bed just shy of queen-size. Simply pop down the table and thick mattress pieces, and settle in for a glorious sleep! There’s heaps of storage under the bed for all your belongings, keeping everything close at hand.
Slide out her kitchen drawer to find everything you need to whip up a feast—from a trusty gas cooker to crockery, cutlery, and even some handy pantry basics to get you started. Keep your groceries cool in the fridge, charge your devices with her solar power, and bask in stunning sunset views from Danni's special roof deck, accessible via a clever ladder (use at own risk).
Prefer to admire the view from ground level? No worries! Roll out the awning and set up her quirky camping chairs and outdoor table to complete your outdoor setup! There’s even a roof-mounted solar shower for rinsing off or freshening up!

About the Campervan
Location: Danni lives in Hamilton renowned for its fabulous botanical gardens! There is an airport in Hamilton and regular bus and train services from Auckland CBD which take 2 – 3 hours. If you’re driving your own car, it can be safely parked in the driveway while you’re away. Danni can also be brought to Auckland for pick-up/drop-off for an additional charge (see Extras).
In The Cab: 3 seats in cab up front (2 with 3-point seat belts and centre seat with lap belt); radio with Bluetooth connection.
Kitchen Area: With her beautiful timber cabinetry, Danni has a generous-sized sink with goose-neck electric pump tap and an upright fridge. For cooking, Danni has a pull-out drawer which stores the gas stove and heaps of storage as well as all the essential utensils, pots, pans, knives, crockery and cutlery etc. and pantry basics.
Dining/Living/Sleeping Area: Danni has an internal height of 1.61m – so only standing room if you’re on the shorter side but it’s a comfortable and practical height when considering driving and living. Danni has a convertible bed which is just a little smaller than queen-size (140cm x 205cm)… such a luxury in a campervan! Danni has thick mattress pieces for a great night’s sleep. For extra privacy and security there are tinted windows and quality blinds. Note: we list bedding and towels as Extras at the booking stage in case guests prefer to bring their own. There is also plenty of storage under the bed.
Water Facilities: Like all Quirky Campers in NZ, Danni is certified self-contained. There are 60 litre fresh and grey water tanks. Following the newly introduced requirement for a fixed toilet for freedom camping, Danni’s is stored inside a cupboard next to the bed and is used in-situ by opening the door and countertop! There’s also a roof-mounted solar shower with separate tank and small pressure pump.
Electrical/Lighting and Audio Equipment: Danni has a leisure battery charged via the solar panel and also the engine when driving, which powers the fridge, LED lights, USB sockets for charging devices. There’s also an inverter for powering devices needing 240v (mains power).
Type of Heating: None aside from cab heater
Outside: Danni comes with an awning and roof deck with ladder (use at own risk). Camping chairs, outdoor table and a solar shower pack are available as optional extras.
Conversion Story: I have always wanted to create my own van but couldn’t decide where to start until the day I spotted this stunner online and fell in love! The van has been carefully built by the previous owner – his third build – and has my fav colour green within. I love the Scandi look of this modern van, and the top deck is perfect for watching sunrise/sunsets from – Jacqui
