Stunning inside, sturdy outside
Say Kia ora to Charlie, a 4WD adventure machine with a super cosy interior. Fitted out by a local carpenter and beautifully finished by her current owners, this van blends comfort with top-tier utility. After travelling in the van themselves and sharing her with Quirky customers, Charlie’s owners are now reluctantly putting her up for sale for the next caregivers to love. Want to take a look around? Click here to take a virtual tour through this beauty with Emma.
Emma and Hunter will accept offers circa $26,500 NZD. Having only been fitted out in 2023, she’s in great nick and comes with all the up-to-date paperwork. Here’s the lowdown…
All about the vehicle
Charlie is a 2007 Isuzu Como – diesel, automatic – with 242,000 kilometres on the clock. She’s just had a service too.
Charlie has the following paperwork…
- Rego until 27 October 2024
- COF until 26 August 2024
- Certified Self Contained (CSC) for 2 people until August 2024 (with a blue warrant – Charlie has a portable toilet located under the bed)
- Road User Charges – paid up to 245,000km
Let’s start up front …
In the cab there are 3 seats. 2 have 3-point seat belts, and the centre seat has a lap belt. There is also a stereo with Bluetooth connection. Charlie has an interior height of 1.65m – so standing room if you’re on the shorter side! She has vinyl wooden flooring. There are windows with mid-weight curtains for privacy.
To the kitchen!
Charlie has a great layout with a space efficient L-shaped kitchen providing lots of storage, along with a timber countertop, tiled splashback and generous sink with electric pump tap. There’s a 50L compressor fridge stored under the bench top which slides out on runners. And for cooking, Charlie has a 2-burner camping stove (with 2kg gas bottle) and all the essential utensils, pots, pans, knives, crockery and cutlery etc. The camping stove, gas bottle, crockery and cutlery are all part of the deal too. She also has a fire extinguisher for safety which is located under the bench.
For dining, there’s a table (on a leg so not fixed), and a cosy day bed that can comfortably seat three.
Storage Galore
Charlie has plenty of storage space overhead and under the bed (accessed from the rear), perfect for holding all your gear. She also has a long run of storage cabinets either side of the bed for your more personal items.
Sleep time…
When evening falls, Charlie’s day bed/seating area seamlessly transforms into a comfy bed (see how in her van tour). The bed measures 130 cm x 200 cm, which is a little longer than a standard double bed! While Charlie will not come with linen, her very comfy premium mattress is included! There are also fairy lights.
The power system
Charlie has a 120ah AGM leisure battery charged via a roof-mounted 100W solar panel (and also while the engine is running) which then powers the fridge, lights and an inverter with USB sockets for charging devices.
Added extras!
Charlie also comes with two camp chairs, a table and her Kings awning!
Is Charlie self-contained?
Charlie is certified self-contained (CSC) for two people under the blue standard until August 2024. From that date she can only camp in paid camping areas (campsites, KiwiCamps, DOC camps etc.) However, with a bit of work, she could have a fixed toilet installed and therefore be eligible to convert to the new green standard.
Charlie has a 25L fresh water tank, which means refilling less often. She has a 12V electric water pump to supply cold water to the kitchen sink. There’s a 25L waste tank located under the sink with the fresh water tank.
