Want to see some cool handcrafted campervans up-close? And talk to their owners to learn about their experience of van building and life on the road? Then join us for our first Quirky Campers Meet-Up… an informal social gathering for owners of self-built campervans!
Here’s the plan…
- We meet at McLarens Falls Park near Tauranga, Bay of Plenty.
- The meet-up runs from about 3pm – 9pm on Saturday 8 May at the Pin Oak campground within the Park grounds.
- You don’t have to stay overnight but for those not camping, the park closes at 5.30pm.
- By “meet-up” we mean showing others our vans, sharing our knowledge and experiences, having a bite to eat, a wee drink and a good laugh 🙂
- If camping, we each book to stay and pay the campground directly. It’s $15 per adult and $5 per child per night. You may want to make a weekend of it and stay on Friday and/or Sunday night too.
- Please read the full campground terms and conditions before booking… the main ones are that the site:
- has no requirement to be self-contained as it has toilets (and also showers and BBQs)
- has no powered sites
- is not pet-friendly due to the resident birdlife.
- Once we confirm numbers and specific interests, we’ll organise a loose schedule – if needed – so people can make the most of the meet-up time.
- Note: this is not a profit-making, ticketed event run by Quirky Campers NZ. We are all simply parking up in the same place at the same time covering our own costs… and acting responsibly!).
