This bespoke conversion was made by local craftsmen to create a van which is simply a really nice place to be. We wanted something which fitted our lifestyle so it has lots of small touches with that in mind. The alleyway can store a bike or a short kayak when the bed is up, we have the bed down when we’re travelling with the dogs and had a net made to act as a dog guard. There’s a shower inside the back door with a 70 litre tank to wash down dogs, bikes etc. We installed a 3000W inverter to power the Nespresso coffee machine (included), driven off the 150 amp hour leisure battery. This is charged by the feed from the alternator via a voltage sensitive relay, and the 240W of solar panels on the roof via an MPPT controller. There is Waeco thermoelectric fridge which intelligently switches between being powered by the battery or the hook-up. The sink is fed from a 25 litre jerry can and wastes to a second 25 litre jerry can. The tap is a standard camping 11 litres per minute tap. The seats in the front and bed in the back are upholstered in leather, as are some of the wall panels. The carpentry is finished in waxed birch except for the work surface which is made from a hardwood called Keruing. The two-ring gas cooker is fed from an 11kg bottle which can be filled from any LPG pump at petrol stations. The bottle sits within its own cabinet with a drop out vent. Safety was considered paramount when builder our camper so the three heavy items, leisure battery, 70 litre water tank and gas bottle have been strapped into position and then protected with steel reinforcement. The curtains were upholstered to fit the windows and attach with poppers. Lighting is from four down lighters with an additional four set in the top of the storage cabinet which provide a more subtle back-light. Rear speakers in the living area. The Electric hook-up is discretely hidden under the rear bumper. The bench which runs down the side of the van folds out towards the centre to make the bed. Underneath the bench is storage space. 12v socket for USBs and kit in the rear. More photos are available upon request. This is a reluctant sale because we just don’t use her much any more.
Standard 2 berth bed in the pop-top.
Downstairs is a double bed which folds out from the bench seat running along the side of the van.
