VEHICLE INFORMATION
– 2012 Mercedes Sprinter SWB (short wheelbase), High top. 6”2” standing space after conversion
– Two front seats, alarm system and radio
– Manual, Diesel (6 gears)
– Miles: 131349 – as of 8/11/21
– One commercial owner before myself (DPD, annually serviced and maintained)
– MOT Until: 09/10/2022
– Drivable on standard UK license

Work done since purchase: Single tyre replacement, fuel injection valve replaced 18months+ ago, track ball joint replaced (regular wear point for van this age). New wipers and reflectors on last MOT. Well looked-after.

Please note: Seats in front cabin are worn due to DPD use – couriers jumping in and out catches the sides of the seats. They are comfortable and supportive to sit on, just not very pretty.
Short wheelbase allows for her to sit comfortably in a car-park space, therefore can be used as a primary vehicle.

Conversion Description

I bought Nicki as a van conversion project, and completed her mid-2020. During last winter furlough I decided to re-fit her to a higher spec but was called back to work shortly after having stripped her down. Not having time to finish her, she is half-completed without the finishing touches that will make her shine.
My personal circumstances have changed – no longer single and now there’s 3 of us + a dog, so Nicki’s sadly no longer suitable for purpose. Therefore, I want to give her the opportunity to live her best life with a new owner who is ready to put their stamp on her! All of the essentials are installed, wiring and lighting, fully insulated, she needs finishing and some fancy woodwork to make her look stunning.

Stealthy approach to conversion, with roof vents (2, one with fan for circular ventilation) and solar panels kept low. Space left blank on sliding door to install window.
Retrofitted bulkhead with sliding window compartment, all insulated.

Insulation:
DODO sound-deadening matting
Celotex foam insulation, 50mm wall & ceiling, 30mm floor
Thermo-fleece insulation and spray-foam insulation in bodywork gaps
Reflective bubble-wrap insulation coating for vapour barrier, sealed with thermowrap tape
(I used Nicki for a few weeks of winter living mid-way through conversion, and it was very important that she be suitable for winter explorations.)

12V solar electrics system:
2 x 120ah AGM leisure batteries
2 x 150W solar panels
Solar converter
12-slot fuse board
Isolation switch
300W 12-230V inverter (not installed but included) – I’ve never had the use for it
Touch-switch spotlights
4.2A USB charger x 2
Integrated down-lighting LED strip lights
Spotlights installed into roof

Safety:
Fire blanket
Smoke and carbon monoxide alarm
Unburned LPG detector (gas leak alarm)
2 exits with internal and external handles
Back and side doors. Back door on main locking system, additional magnetic lock on side-door. Anti-drill plates. Fantastic security.

Other features:
Fridge – Dometic CDF-36 31 Litre Portable Compressor Fridge Freezer, 12 V/24 V
Propex 1600 Heater, installed, with brand new thermostat (propane tank not included)
Roof fixtures sealed with butyl tape – more substantial and lasts longer than silicone
Wiring in place for water pump
Overhead cabin storage
4ft Memory foam mattress included if wanted
2 ring hob (attachable to gas bottle)
12V to 240V inverter (300W, suitable for charging laptops)

Cost breakdown:
Van valued by insurer at £5250 (without conversion)
Cost of equipment and insulation (without labour) – £3300

I’ve driven Nicki as my primary vehicle since May 2019. She runs like a dream, good mileage on the motorway and quite nippy.

No toilet or shower.
Mattress is 4ft width and has about 4 inches cut off the end to allow it to be put widthways across van. I’m 5’10” but curl up when asleep. Might be a squeeze for very tall people.

As she’s not finished and requires TLC, I’m not expecting to make money out of Nicki. Similar vans of this age with completed interiors/finishes that are MWB/LWB sell for around £12-15k; I’d like to break even on costs so wouldn’t accept less than £9k including a full service before sale (£220+VAT).
Most important to me is that she enables someone to explore/festival/holiday rather than just driving me to work whilst I feel guilty about her ignored potential.

Happy to get her serviced before purchase, I have a great mechanic.
Any questions please ask.

Beds Description

4ft Mattress – 4 inches cut off the end so slightly shorter than a standard mattress.
