Suzuki Carry
The van has been owned by myself for the last 5 years and used during summer and weekends throughout the year for holiday’s travelling around Europe. Prior to myself the van was owned by someone who used it to carry mountain bikes and prior to that by a chimney sweeper, so has only been used to carry very light goods throughout its life. As such the van drives very well despite its age, and normally doesn’t require too much work for each MOT. The most I have spent on an MOT in the past is around 500 pounds, but typically around 200 pounds of works have been required. The next MOT is due on the 6th of January so this should be factored in when buying. Also note that the engine light is on, this is due to a problem with the O2 sensor and will not cause the van to fail the MOT as it has always passed the emissions test. I have a receipt from a garage verifying this. I also recently replaced the brake callipers, battery and brake tubes and pads.
It is also worth noting that due to the vans small size it is ideal for European travel – it is classed as a ‘car’ on Euro toll roads, parking areas, campsites, etc which means you pay significantly less to get around. It also can drive up roads and park in car parks with height restrictions, which many vans cant. It also uses petrol (very rare for a van of this age), and can drive in the ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) without paying any fees.
I absolutely love this van and am very sad to be parting ways with it – I have always treated it with care, performed repairs when needed and serviced regularly. It could make a great purchase for someone looking for a bargain and prepared to do a little bit of maintenance to keep her running.
Located in North West London.
Priced very low to sell as I am moving house in the new year and need the van gone before I move.
This is a simple conversion which has everything you need to comfortably travel during summer. Two drawers open at the back giving more than enough storage for two peoples clothes. There is a large bed, with seats that fold down making it comfortable for a tall person (I am 6′ 4) to sleep in. There also is a reasonable amount of extra storage space under the bed. I typically travel with my partner in the van over summer for up to 8 weeks and we have more than enough space to store everything we need. The is a wooden table, which folds out of one of the sliding doors at standing height, allowing you to easily cook outside and enjoy the surroundings wherever you have parked up for the night. The is also a LED light on a flexible pole by the table which can be adjusted to light up the cooking area or wherever you are sitting nearby the van.
The van is also fully insulated, meaning that it stays cool in the mornings. I have used the van right through winter for weekend trips, and due its small size and good insulation we have never needed any external heating.
Although the van is very basic, I have absolutely loved travelling around Europe in it with my partner. We have found it is big enough to live in for up to 8 weeks during summer. We have taken it as far south as Morocco and never had any issues, or wished we had more space. The only reason I am selling it is because I plan to live and work full time in a van, so need to upgrade to something slightly larger.
The is ample space to sleep two in the back of the van. I built this van for myself (6’4) and my girlfriend (much smaller). The bed on the driver side folds down meaning a tall person like myself can sleep on the driver side fully stretched out. A smaller person can sleep fully stretched out on the other side – if required the passenger side could be easily modified to fit a taller person too, you would simple need to buy another hinge.
