Previous owner used vehicle for company work use. For the last year and a half I have used the vehicle for leisure trips and a home.
Small parch of rust on drivers door which has been treated. Chasis is solid.
MOT due July so I can sell with a clean MOT if needed. Last year it failed on an indicator so I have no worries.
Conversion is designed around maximum lightness and space. The van was built to live in off-grid and use as a studio. The space is open plan and can easily be adapted to one’s own taste preference.
The walls/floor/ceiling have 50mm celotex insulation so it stays cool in summer and heats up quickly when the burner is on. There are 2by2 battens drilled into the box of the van, the 5mm plywood panels are attached to these battens.
The floor is reclaimed pinewood floorboards that have been oiled. These can be re-sanded when desired. They are thick but lightweight boards.
The two windows and skydome have been added and secured. The skydome is 2m squared letting in amazing light. The skydome is drilled onto a 2by2 frame and is further secured with seleant and bitchmen flashband on the outside.
The kitchen has an oak counter top and cast iron hobs. There is also a small caravan gas powered oven. Plenty of storage.
The hanging table is made from spalted beech and has lovely detail. I use thus as an art space as its nestled next to the fire. The woodburning stove is the ‘mini cyclops’ from Glastonbury burners. A carbon monoxide alarm is fitted in the appropriate location.
The french door at the back is a wide paneled door allowing plenty of light, hung and framed by a professional carpenter. There are two key’s for the french door. The porch contains a woodstore and bench that opens up as a storage box. The roller shutter also works for safety when leaving then van and has a key.
The electrics provide a basic set up with room to add the circuits you desire for your need. There is a Renology charge controller, large fitted solar panel, inverter and 2×batteries.
The conversion is bright and spacious and ideal for full time living, studio space or trips!
I’m located in Totnes, Devon. Message for viewing!
There is a full sized double bed up top but more beds could easily be added. I used to have a futon underneath the bed which could sleep an extra 2 so there’s plenty of space to add sleeping arrangements
