Intro
This is a reluctant sale of a completely hand built camper. This isn’t the common cheaply built conversion to make a quick buck – but a lovingly converted van meant for living. We’ve lived in this for 3 months (twice!) while travelling Europe. It’s a rare combination of a low mileage excellent (reliable) base van plus a meticulous conversion inside.
If you’re looking for an incredibly beautiful, well made and off grid van with almost all accessories possible and low miles that will last you, you’ve found it!
There’s over £25,000 worth of equipment alone, not including labour or materials. Attention to detail is extremely high.
Why are we selling?
We bought this van to do an epic trip around Europe, which it was perfect for. We’ve had the best time but now it’s time to get back to work and it doesn’t make sense having it just sat on the drive – Ziggy is ready for it’s next owner and adventure! This van is the truly ultimate 2 person full time expedition van.
What needs doing on the van
Nothing! It’s truly ready to go. We’ll sell with a full tank of fuel, LPG, and water so you could drive straight on your first trip! The outside is nice and clean if you wanted to add any graphics. Inside, I can’t imagine you’d need to do much but there are things like spare wires run through if you needed to add anything (eg electric water pump under the sink), or spare gas manifold if you wanted an external BBQ point.
Summary:
Very high spec camper van with off grid capabilities. We’ve taken the van around Europe and been in many different scenarios. The 300W solar panel is enough for daily electrical requirements and therefore for most of the year you don’t need to plug in. Underslung water tanks and a high spec pump (combined with the gas boiler) mean powerful hot showers. The van will sleep 2 adults comfortably as there are cut outs at the sides of the bed, which is slightly smaller than a king. If you’re over 6ft, we have an additional cushion which can be put on the kitchen worktop to extend even further. Mattress is a very comfortable memory foam. It has a 2 ring gas hob and gas oven with grill. Good size fridge with in-built freezer. Full heating all round with multiple ducts from the gas boiler. Also a spare gas manifold for a BBQ connection. Outdoor shower at the rear. BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres all with at least 8mm tread. Electrical set up is a top of the range Victron set up in the garage, in clear, ventilated cabinets. Inverter gives power to regular 230V 3 pin plugs for your home appliances. Gas safe signed off in May this year. The van has a telemetries tracker which you can set up on an app. It also has a CarPlay system which allows you to plug your phone in and play music whilst driving. In the living space and garage there are bluetooth speakers which can be connected to phone or laptop. Thetford cassette toilet inside van with water ‘flush’.
2000cc engine capacity. DPF replaced under warranty (over £2,000 not in warranty) late 2022. Full VW service history. MOT expires 19 December 2023. Full service carried out in August 2023 (next service interim in 1 year).
