Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

Iveco Daily XLWB 2008. One of the longest vans on the road made this the ideal choice. Being ex military we knew it would have been serviced thoroughly during its life. The van had about 70k on the clock when we got it in Feb 2022 and we have added another 10k. MOT until Jan 2024, and has a full service history since we purchased. Work done on brakes and fuel pump as required during ownership. Rear wheel drive with 4 season tyres on driving wheels. It has usual signs of body wear for the age of vehicle.

Conversion Description

No expense was spared when converting this ex-military vehicle – with professional services procured along the way. The vehicle was converted to our specification for a 4 month European tour and now it’s time for someone else to have the adventures.

Heating and Hot Water System

We have opted for the Truma 4e boiler which means the boiler works on either electric via hook up (cable provided with EU adapter) or lpg (30l underslung tank with petrol station filler cap with EU adapters provided). Thermostat controls temperature and hot water settings. This is a high end installation found in most high end professional coach build campervans. 3 hot air vents (one in garage for drying clothes etc) get the van up to temperature very quickly and quietly and then maintain temperature without you needing to intervene during the night. The truma can also be set on a timer or upgraded to the iNet for remote control.

Electrical System

There are 2 100a AGM leisure batteries which are charged in 3 ways;
400w solar
40a Renogy DC to DC charger when the van is running
Electrical hook up when at a camp site via a battery charger (never used).
This System has proved faultless during our off grid time in the UK and abroad.
The batteries supply all 12v appliances including a 40l compressor fridge (lights, usb chargers, water pump).
A 2000w pure sine inverter provides all 240v appliances with power (hairdryer and laptop chargers via 3 pin uk plugs).
The system is monitored by various gauges which give real time information on battery charge and solar charge etc.
Schematics of the van can be provided.

Water System

As we wanted an indoor and outdoor shower, high pressure water was a priority. We have a fully pressurised water system via a Sureflow water pump and pressure chamber with particulate filter. A 120 fresh water tank (with lockable external filler cap) would serve us for 3 or 4 days off grid. All services are provided by 12mm John guest push fittings and have been thoroughly tested. The indoor shower, outdoor shower and the kitchen taps all benefit from hot water.

Cooking
The gas hob utilises the underslung lpg tank and will last an eternity.

Garage
The garage has been finished with an internal light and benefits from 2x Rocky Mounts to store and lock bikes.

WC
The van can be supplied with a used but sterilised porta potti.

Insulation
Often overlooked – but we have insulated the van with dodo sound deadening and insulation rolls (i can source supplier name if required)

The Finish
The van has been finished to assume to look of a log cabin, with pine ceilings and a wood effect floor. A skylight above the bed is great for ventilation and star gazing. Two reading lights (with usb chargers) are located in the bedroom for convenience. The mattress consists of 4inch foam with a 1 inch memory topper and is 175cm x 175cm (roughly). Windows are either covered by reflective bespoke made blinds or bespoke black out curtains for a cosy feel. A table is stored in the garage to provide a spacious dining area.

Current Reg is FA08KJU – previous Reg was M4 VTG (ULEZ searches don’t recognise new Reg yet as private plate was only taken off recently)

Beds Description

The van has one bed, which is ~175cm x 175cm. The mattress is a bespoke 4″ foam + 1″ memory topper.

Main Bed Length
175cm
