Issues –
Back wiper motor for wiper liquid needs replacing.
Radio screen in the front comes up with an error message sometimes when it starts – we had a new BCM put in with the new engine, which meant the radio had a different VIN to the BCM which is why it says an error message but we have been driving it since for months and its absolutely fine, advised by the mechanic that it is just the screen that is not recognising the new BCM, this can be changed with new radio screen or taking to someone who can change the VIN on the radio.
Has some slight mould on one back side the canvas pop top roof, you can clean it professionally or get the canvas replaced.
Back door boot needs a new piston on the right side, can buy one from Toyota for £60 we just havent gotten round to it.
The conversion inside this van is colourful and bright, with lots of natural light illuminating the space with through the windows of the pop top awning and the sky light. The electrical installation was mostly done by my dad who is an electrical engineer. He’s done a great job of making all the wiring neat and safe. He helped to wire up the battery, inverter, plug sockets, fridge, lighting and all the electrical monitors that show how the vans electrics are performing. It all looks really smart.
Structurally we first made the benches, the bed extension flaps, the kitchen unit with sink, fridge and cupboard space, and then the cladding. The remaining curved surfaces around the windows and doors have all been felted. The back door felting has not been finished, but we have we have lots of spare felt that we will be selling with the van.
The bed is set up using a central panel that connects the 2 side benches together. The there is an end flap which extends the bed to meet the end unit. Dowling and hidged legs holds the extension in place. Giving a total bed length of 190cm. We have custom made cream coloured cushions that fit on top, creating a nicely comfy bed. A normal bed shit fits well to the cushions.
