Ford Transit L1H2
Reluctant sale of Merida, our tartan clad adventure wagon. With baby number two on the way she’s not big enough for our growing family so it’s time for someone else to enjoy her! She’s pretty compact so easy to drive on narrow roads and park in standard spaces (we also installed a reversing camera to help make parking super easy). Perfect set up for use as a dayvan or to camp in – ideal for couples (although 3 seats gives a bit of flexibility with additional passengers/pets/family members.
Base van – Mk7 Ford Transit van (medium roof and short wheelbase), 2.2l diesel engine, manual transmission (6 gears).
MOT until March 2025 (advisory for deteriorated number plate and small oil leak). Partial service history (we have had her serviced every year since we bought her in 2021). Since we bought her we’ve had the starter motor and battery changed, the underside and chassis sealed to protect it from rust, and a new leisure battery. We’ve also recently replaced the power steering pipes and rack (this was previously listed on the advert as a repair that the new owners would need to make but was getting worse so we decided to get it fixed.)
Happy for prospective buyers to arrange inspections if they would like – just let us know.
Exterior – age related marks and a few spots of surface rust on the body contingent with Transits of this age. The driver side front wheel arch has a dent and scrape damage where a reversing fire engine accidentally scraped past.
Any questions just ask 🙂
PS. Could also potentially arrange alternative handover location near Peterborough if Ripon is too far to travel
The conversion is basic but functional and tidy, with insulation and internal wooden cladding, a fixed small double bed, hand pump sink and cupboard storage, and leisure battery powering electric LED spotlights and USB charging port. The garage area under the bed is open, allowing maximum storage and makes a flexible load area. Prior to baby number 1’s arrival, we raised the bed by making 4″ extensions for each leg to allow our bikes to be stored upright underneath the bed, using fork mounts screwed into the floor.
Small fixed double bed widthways across the van. I think it would be easy to add another bed if needed for a third person/child, either behind the front seats or under the existing bed.
