Toyota Granvia
This 1997 van was imported from Japan in 2013 and has just done 70,000 miles since new. It was converted to a camper by Wellhouse, a company with a reputation for quality work that is still very evident throughout. The bodywork is as new – quite remarkable for a vehicle of its age and helped by the ‘Diamondbrite’ paint finish and underseal. The van is powered by a 3.37cc, V6 engine, which runs on LPG or petrol (two separate 45-litre tanks) at the flick of a switch. There is evidence of all previous LPG and vehicle servicing, MOTs and habitation checks. It has an automatic gearbox (Drive, Sport and Low Ratio – very useful in wet fields) and runs in permanent 4-wheel drive (also very useful in wet fields!). The tyres probably have 15,000-20,000 miles left in them.
Apart from everything one would expect of any camper (pop-up roof and ‘upstairs’ sleeping for two kids or one adult; two front seat fold down beds, swivel passenger chair, a removable table, fridge, cooker, water pump, electric hook up, sink and internal lighting throughout) it comes with a host of EXTRAS, including:
Retractable wing mirrors, electric windows and window blinds throughout, radio/CD player and speakers, roof bars, solar panels, 2 one-year-old 12-volt leisure batteries, a fully fitted and recently serviced Webasto heater, a drive-away Swift Van 325 awning that attaches to the wind-out Fiamma awning, an electric soft-close sliding side door, a built-in toilet, a remote alarm immobiliser, cameras and parking sensors (back and front), a reversing camera, separate immobilisers for the vehicle and leisure batteries and a tow bar with single electrics.
This is a powerful, leak and damp-free, immaculately presented vehicle that has been well cared for throughout its life. It will be sold with a full year’s MOT, valid until July 2025. I would be surprised if there were another in as good condition anywhere in the country. I am confident it will run well and provide camping pleasure for many years to come.
This vehicle had a full, internal Wellhouse conversion in 2013. The raised roof allows standing. Access is from the front, side and rear doors. The rear passenger seats (belted) are inside the sliding side door with the two 12 volt leisure batteries, permanently topped up by the solar panels on the roof, and a removable dining table. The front passenger seat swivels around. The centre and rear of the van provide the kitchen (double gas hob, sink, 12v fridge, drawers and storage cupboards/toilet. We have removed the fitted Dometic Seitz toilet for more space but it is complete, as new, and will fit back easily if required. All side and rear windows, behind the front seating are tinted for privacy and have fitted blinds. There is also a 240v extension and hook up. The Webasto Air Top 2000 ST heating system is attached to the petrol fuel system, not the LPG system.
The roof has solar panels, roof bars, a vent and a Fiamma side awning. There is also a Swift Van 325 SunnCamp awning that attaches to the Fiamma side awning and has a ‘drive away’ fitting included. There is a ball hitch with electrics on the rear.
The main beds are two singles, made up by the front and passenger seats folding down to link up with the two rear seats. The roof boards provide enough space for two children or one adult comfortably.
The contact details for this vehicle are no longer available because it has either sold or the listing has expired.
