We’re sadly parting with our campervan Vanthony – still in excellent condition and with very low mileage – because we’ve bought land to build an off-grid house on.

This one-of-a-kind van was professionally converted in 2022 by Bhode campers (formerly Rubber Tramps), to our painstakingly thought-out design.

The setup is perfect for a young family / pet owners / couples wanting the flexibility for the future – with 3 belted seats at the front and sleeping berths for up to 3 in the back.

The van can go FULLY OFF GRID in ALL SEASONS:
– in hot weather it has excellent ventialation and shade options including a 10 speed ceiling air vent fan and a 2.6m wind-out awning over the main doorway
– in the winter, the heating system will deliver hot air to fully heat the space within minutes, it’s controllable with thermostat and timer functions, runs off an LPG tank which lasts months between refills and can make hot water for washing up and showers
– there are 3 ways to charge its large battery capacity (200ah): driving/running the enging; plugging the provided 14m cable into household or campsite mains power sockets, provided; and via the ample 175W solar panel

There is loads of storage space, a full kitchen, a composting toilet and external hot water shower. The composting toilet is much easier and more pleasant to empty than a chemical cassette toilet and is super convenient when you’re off grid away from campsites. We were very sensibly advised against having an internal shower – they take up loads of space, use tonnes of water, risk causing damp inside the vehicle and block out light, all for something you won’t end up using much. The van has an exterior shower point which is perfect for a quick rinse after the beach.
