A big van suitable for tall people and families or just couples who like their space!
Prior to our purchase in 2015 it was a fleet van hence the high mileage (it was about 180,000 miles in 2015 when we brought it).
Few scrapes and dents consistent with its’ age and right hand side rear view mirror is cracked but still works incl. the lights and passes MOT.
Really well designed and installed systems (solar, electrics, hot water, fridge, cooker etc). All of these were installed a few years ago and have stood the test of time. It just needs a bit of love with the finishing touches which we never got around to, and this is reflected in the price. We’re reluctantly selling as we’ve moved abroad for work.

Brought in 2015, self-converted and registered as a campervan with DVLA in 2018
Fully off-grid campervan. Conversion done by an electrical/mechanical engineer so all of the systems are well designed and work great.
* Sheeps wool insulation covered with semi-permeable membrane and ply cladding – providing breathable insulation to reduce condensation.
* Mass loaded vinyl installed under the heavy duty marmoleum flooring to reduce driving noise for passengers in the back
* 2 x 110ah leisure batteries with a smart digital battery charger and solar charge control. Batteries were replaced in Aug 2023 and neatly installed under the cab seats to maximise space.
* 260W solar panel which keeps the leisure batteries topped up.
* 500W inverter to provide 240v mains power whilst off grid.
* 240V electric hook up and integrated leisure battery charger
* Several 240v and 12v plug sockets throughout the van, some with integrated usb charging points
* 500W plug in heater with thermostat – small but enough to keep the van warm on colder nights. Only works on hook up
* Sound system with 4 speakers and a sub-woofer
* Lighting: ambient dimmable LED strip lighting under cabinets and full “working” light option
* 50 litre water capacity – in 2 x 25 litre removable plastic jerry cans.
* 75 litre waste tank located under the van. Waste pipes have been located so it’s easy to pull up over a kerbside gutter drain and empty.
* Sink with electric pump tap system. No hot water but ready for connection
* Domestic undercounter 240V fridge (75cm high by 42cm wide) – operates well off the solar panel alone or off a 240V hookup. After trial and error we found it to be more efficient than an expensive 12V fridge. In very hot weather your mates constantly opening the fridge to take one beer at a time will drain the battery if it’s just running off the solar. But in normal everyday operation it’s strong enough to make ice in the mini freezer section.
* Meths Origo cooker – 2 hobs and an oven (no gas on board).

* All of the cabinetry is bolted into the van with M8 bolts into threaded rivet nuts – avoids condensation that can occur with lots of screw fixed directly in the van structure and the robustness of the fixings makes it safer for passengers in the back in case of a crash. Also means that all the cabinetry can be easily removed if needed.
* Pull out dining table
* Wooden bulkhead with a slide down window so passengers in front and back can chat to each other. The internal window also allows for a stealthy exit in the morning as you don’t need to open the living accommodation section of the van before driving away
* Opening tinted window on the sliding door with a fitted curtain
* Sun roof / roof vent
* Jungle wallpaper on the ceiling
* Composting toilet (in main space)
* Heavy duty chocs
* Lots of counter space – more than average
* Loads of storage space – over cab storage, high and low level cabinets on both sides of the van for clothes, food, crockery, pots pans, games, bbqs, etc. 2 x drawers for cutlery plus a pull out larder for cans and food and a pop up spice rack. Plus cargo net storage installed in several useful areas and 3 long open shelves
* Middle section of the van has been kept free so you can still transport large and long items (e.g. 4m timbers, 2.4m ply sheets or bikes, skies, kayaks etc.)
The van is fully functioning and has served us faithfully on many weekend breaks and longer summer holidays in the UK and Europe.
Where the van could do with a bit of love is in the aesthetics department and this is reflected in the price.
Finishing touches aren’t our forte and we also ran out of time before buying a house which needed a lot of work and having kids. Someone with some carpentry skills or an eye for interior design could really make this van a beauty and probably worth well more than we’re selling her for.
Potential areas of work:
* Some minor surface rust e.g. underside of wheel arches
* Sunroof needs to be resealed
* Magnetic bump stops for rear doors need replacing
* Body work could be improved with a bit of effort as it has sustained a few dings along the way
* Install hot water system
* Create an enclosed private toilet/bathroom space – there is space available at the back of the van, we just never got around to it
Main bed: A rock and roll bed with 2 seatbelts when in seat position. The bed came with an M1 pull test safety certificate. Rolls down to a 115cm x 190cm bed.
Single Bed: A baby/toddler “crib” underneath one of the counters (90 cm by 60 cm), with a removable side panel. Our kids absolutely loved sleeping and playing in their “den”, from newborn until about 3 years old.
The counter above the crib has been designed to be removable and form an extension of the bottom crib making it into a full length single bed – minor work is required to complete this section and cushions or a sleeping mat would need to be made or ordered.
