Monty the Off-Grid Camper: Adventure Ready!

Meet Monty – our lovingly converted campervan, designed with long term European adventure, comfort, and self-sufficiency in mind. His name takes inspiration from our travels in him to Mont Blanc. Monty doesn’t just look amazing inside and out, but he is designed to be 100% off grid and has has plenty of capacity for food, water, and electricity and a large garage space for sports equipment for big adventures.

We are selling Monty as we now have some different adventures in mind and will be sad to see him go.

He is a Citroen Relay 35 L3H2 ENTERPRISE HDI van with a 2.198cc manual transmission diesel engine. 112,000 miles on the clock, and an MOT dating 9th July 2024. Drives nicely, benefiting from a new clutch and turbo fitted in 2023. He had been lovingly serviced by us over the years including new pollen filters, oil changes, oil filter changes in addition to a new sump (professionally garage fitted).

Full transparency, Monty is classed as Cat D due to an accident with his first owner who couldn’t afford to fix him. The local garage we bought Monty from fully repaired him back in 2017 and he is in great working condition. We bought the van from the garage and converted him with the use of local experts and have enjoyed many adventures since. Prior to purchasing the van ourselves, we checked with several insurance companies who confirmed that the Cat D did not impact the cost or scope of insurance. Be assured, we have had no problems insuring this van. His age, history and use is reflected fairly in the price and therefore while we might be open to sensible discussions around price, we are looking for serious buyers.
