Mercedes Sprinter 314 LWB
The van itself is a very good base. Being a 2017 vehicle, she is Euro 6 / ULEZ / CAZ compliant, meaning no unpleasant surprises when you accidentally find yourself leaving low emission zones you didn’t know you entered… She is also efficient, averaging over 30mpg during my ownership. Not only that, she is also Premium Edition, meaning she is equipped with essential additional features like Air Conditioning and upgraded multimedia unit (Bluetooth, satnav etc). Mileage is 138k, as expected for this age, and she was inspected by Mercedes before I bought her, and religiously serviced with Mercedes every year since, from which full documentation is available, along with extensive (thought not entirely complete) service history from her younger years.
The conversion itself is a bit different, with the aim to have as much living area as possible. I’ve opted to forgo a garage, and instead design a full electrically lifting bed in the rear. This allows walkable access to the rear doors, as well as comfortable internal access to the extensive storage found under the bed. In the spirit of maintaining the living space, you will find the shower stowed inside the sofa, and the toilet inside the slide out bench opposite. Towards the front of the van is a very sizeable kitchen, with oak worktops, two burner hob, and full Belfast sink.
