When we bought the van in Feb 2020 there were lots of MOT advisories and we have invested our resources into fixing all of these. We have some service and conversion history from the previous owner (who did the conversion), and all receipts/records from work done since we bought the van.
Occasionally, when starting the van the ignition doesnโt respond. However, removing the key and re-inserting it has always worked.
Cosmetically, Groot does need some TLC. The colour is a respray from an originally white van and does have some fading which is easily refreshed with T-Cut.
I have included pictures of the most significant areas of wear and tear.
There are some small spots of rust, most notably on the fuel cap cover which can be replaced. I include an unopened can of 2K Kawasaki Green paint ready for covering any repairs a buyer wants to do. Our mechanic reassures us they have seen nothing that concerns them underneath the vehicle, but we are happy for potential buyers to arrange their own inspection if required.
Groot is all set up for camping, but is also the perfect base for an update project as we have invested heavily in his mechanical side.
The current conversion was done by the vanโs previous owner and is a simple plywood construction.
Austops pop-top with mattress – canvas in great condition with no leaks, even in torrential rain.
Van insulated and carpet lined.
Rock and roll bed (ยพ width) with 2 seat belts.
2 ring gas stove with grill. Gas pipe renewed 2023.
907 gas cylinder with drop-out vent.
Sink with water pump, tap and external drainage (tap and water pump replaced 2023).

Leisure battery with split relay/EHU charging.
Battery compartment could be improved with new fixings.
Electric hook-up including cable. Socket located in fog light compartment.
240V power sockets can be used when on EHU.
Internal downlights, and spotlight for rear of van (can use to see outside back when barn doors are open).

Driverโs seat – the recline mechanism does not work (front/back slide does work) but we have been happy with its position so have not needed to change this.
Passenger seat – on swivel base.
Internal thermal blinds (Just Kampers) for front windows.
Curtains and panel blind with thermal lining for rear section windows.
Smoke and CO alarms.
Wind deflectors.
Levelling blocks.
Awning rail.
Vango Kela III Airbeam Awning and pump included in sale. Only ever used by the previous owner as we already had an awning.
Fiamma bike rack for 2 bikes.
Groot has been brilliantly weatherproof in some horrendous weather. He also has great ground clearance which has been excellent for camping in bumpy fields and driving along rough tracks.
He never fails to make people smile with his bright appearance, but the decals can easily be removed using gentle hairdryer heat if they arenโt to your taste.
