How does one begin to describe the wondrous May, perhaps I shall compare thee to a summer's day? Located in London, this 3 berth camper’s whitewashed design and subtle earthy tones, creates the perfect setting for a classic romantic getaway. Sleeping two in a fixed double bed, means there will be no faffing at night, simply jump right in. An additional bed can also be assembled using the extra slats and sofa cushions. The gorgeous rich wood ceiling brings a cosy feel to the space whilst remaining sleek and modern, and the sky light is perfect for looking up at the stars while you lie in bed. The back doors have double windows to gaze out of if it’s raining, or even better, open them and have your morning brew with the sun on your face whilst staying cosy under the duvet.

Consider May your very own romantic bistro on wheels. With a double gas hob, grill and oven, the meal options are endless. The kitchen also boasts a fridge/freezer, a solid iroko wood L-shaped top and lightweight poplar ply cupboards. May has been built for the optimum off-grid explorer experience with a sleek minimalist aesthetic.

You can literally live in the comfort of your own home whilst being as far away from it as your desire. With drawers under the bed to unpack your clothes, a massive garage and tons of kitchen storage space, May can keep her light, bright feel whilst harbouring everything you need for an unforgettable van life adventure.

About the Campervan

Description of Beds: May has one fixed double bed measuring 140cm by 200cm, recesses at the top and bottom of the bed means there is plenty of room for taller humans to fully stretch their legs. She also has a third bed that can be quickly assembled using extra slats and the sofa cushions. This could comfortably sleep another adult or child. Description of Seating: May has three belted seats in the front cab. She has a large social area and can fit four (cosy) adults around the table for dinner. Description of Electrical Setup: May has 2x 100amp lithium batteries, a 270W solar panel and a 240v electrical hook up for campsites. She has 1USB socket, 1 USB C socket and two double 13amp sockets powered by a 2000w inverter. About the area: We live in South Bermondsey in South East London, there’s not much to see around here but we are central enough to make getting to us easy and south enough to make getting out of London a non-issue. Parking: Depending on the length of your trip we have parking permits that can be used for private parking spots outside our home or free parking slightly further, 2-5mins walk from our house. Cooking Equipment: May has everything your kitchen at home does, enough plates, bowls, cutlery, and glasses to host a party of four and all the utensils you need to cook up a storm. Pots, pans, a chopping board, sharp knives, grater, colander, a moko coffee pot, kettle and oven baking dish and tray. We will also provide some basic provisions such as salt, pepper, herb oils etc. May also has a fridge/ freezer and bin with a recycling section. A double gas hob, gas oven with grill and a large L shape kitchen counter giving you lots of space to get creative in the kitchen. Water and Sanitation: May has a bullfinch external shower with built in thermostat to make sure the temperature is perfect for you. She has a removable porta potty that comes with a toilet tent so you can take your business outside or inside depending on how you feel, the tent could also be used for showering. There is a 60 litre freshwater tank under the van that you can fill using a hose (provided) through a side panel, this provides water to the shower and tap via a pump. The 50-litre grey water tank can be emptied via a tap on the driver’s side of the van. Audio Equipment: May comes with a large JBL bluetooth portable speaker for the guests to use Type of Heating: May has a diesel heater to keep away the autumn winter chills, this can be used off grid because it won’t drain your battery and set via a thermostat to your required temperature. It takes about 10 minutes to get the van super toasty. Extra Information: May is perfectly suited for off grid living- armed with one 270watts solar panel charging x2 top of the range 100amp lithium batteries to keep your beers cold and your speaker charged. If campsites are more your vibe she also has a 240v electrical hook up. Conversion Story:May is the second conversion by carpenter and builder Joe. After converting his small work van Shelly into a compact camper (sold on Quirky campers back in Jan) Joe set himself a new challenge in a long wheelbase, all mod cons van. Hand crafted over months in his spare time it’s an understatement to say blood, sweat and tears have gone into making her. Cheered on from the side-lines by his girlfriend Izzie we are so happy she’s finally ready to be unleashed on the world. We wanted May to feel cosy but also spacious, she has a huge amount of storage space which allows for a more minimal aesthetic, and less rattling while you drive! Despite her classy looks we encourage you to have as much fun in her as we’ve had, she’s been known to host a few parties in her time. May is the perfect companion for experiencing the absolute joy and adventure that is van life, whilst enjoying the luxury of a beautiful, sophisticated living space.
