Shuggie Shuggie Shuggie, can’t you see, somehow your build hypnotises me.

Professionally converted by Roam and Slumber Campervans, you’re guaranteed to find everything you need for your family holiday inside. Said to be a wonderful blend of all 12 campervans the company has built previously, every inch of Shuggie has been thought through and perfected. A shining example of this would be Shuggie’s large seating area that converts into a dreamy king-size bed in 60 seconds.

We challenge you to find something that cannot be cooked in this kitchen. Cooking on the road has never been easier or more enjoyable than in Shuggie. From her solid walnut worktops to her deep green cabinets, her kitchen is the epitome of stunning. The oven and grill with a 3-ring hob top give you plenty of room to cook for your family and friends.

Picking up the camper in Bristol, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to glorious spots nearby. You could spend your time exploring the Cheddar Gorge or riding the waves in sunny Devon. Shuggie’s mega electrical setup will keep you charged on the go and her heater will keep you warm whatever time of year you decide to hit the road. And last but not least, one of the most exciting features of Shuggie is his rainfall outdoor shower. Picture yourself waking up in the middle of nowhere and freshening up with the natural soundtrack of birdsong - now that's the kind of wake-up call we can get on board with!

About the Campervan

Description of Beds: Shuggie has one super comfy king-size bed and a child's bed too. It can sleep two adults and one child (age 3 - 8 years) comfortably. The king-size bed is 190cm x 176 cm and the child's bed is 120cm x 50cm. Both are made with super comfortable high-density foam and professionally upholstered cushion covers. Description of Seats:Shuggie has three belted seats (including driver) in the cabin which are all a good size for adults. In the living area however, you could seat easily 7 adults. There are two big benches on either side that can comfortably sit three adults and there is a lower seat by the sliding door too. Electrical Setup: Thanks to a mega 230Ah Lithium battery and 600w of solar panels you can sustain happily off-grid indefinitely in Shuggie. With all Victron hardware and a Roamer lithium battery, this is a seriously high-end electrical setup. On rainy days the Battery to battery charger will top up the battery whilst driving. There is also a 375 Watt inverter which runs directly to the domestic sockets above the worktop. This will happily charge laptops but won't run anything that drawers a lot of power. Four USB charging points ensure you're not struggling to charge phones, speakers and other electrical items at the same time. There is no hook up so leave any high-powered electrical items at home. About the Area:Shuggie lives in an off-street industrial park and there is plenty of parking to leave your vehicle. It's also just a 25-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station or a ten-minute cab ride. Cooking Equipment: As a keen cook Shuggie's creator has equipped the kitchen accordingly. The main feature is a 3-ring hob cooker with gas oven and grill, enabling you to cook up elaborate feasts. Also provided is a ceramic oven dish for lasagnas or chips etc, a frying pan and two other cooking pots, small and large. You will also find cutlery, a nice sharp cooking knife, a corkscrew, a grater, a peeler, a slotted spoon, a spatula and other utensils. , large and small saucepans, and steamer. Water can be boiled in the beautiful stovetop Le Creuset kettle. Real wine glasses are an eye turner as well as the wine rack which is housed above the 65-litre Dometic fridge freezer. Plenty of space for lots of food, wine, beer, icecreams, all the good stuff. Importantly Shuggie comes equipped with a caffertiere and stylish ceramic mugs. There are also large plates, small plates, cereal bowls, and tough plastic beakers for water or mixers. Last but not least oven gloves and clean tea towels will always be provided as well as a washing brush and liquid. Water & Sanitation: Shuggie boasts a 90-litre underslung fresh water tank as well as hot water via the underslung Whale water heater. Get 8 litres of piping hot water in just 15 minutes. This feeds the sink inside the kitchen and the external shower which is housed just inside the back doors. In two minutes, open the back doors, pop the shower curtain between them if you want the privacy, slot in the clever shower hose jig and you're good to go. Audio Equipment: For long journeys there is a standard CD radio stereo in the cab with USB and AUX inputs. If you want some better quality sound and some more volume connect to the tasty JBL Bluetooth speaker which is there for your entertainment. Can be taken outside too when you're having a picnic but be careful not to leave it behind. Heating: You can rest assured you'll be lovely and warm on cold nights as there is a 4Kw diesel heater which warms up Shuggie in no time. As Shuggie was designed to be able to hit the ski slopes of Europe there are also huge heavy, thermal curtains to come across the back doors, the aperture into the cab and smaller curtains for both side windows too. Not to mention the comprehensive insulation that cocoons the back of the van behind the scenes. Extra Information:Shuggie is full of quirky features to combine with comprehensive functionality. Above the seating areas or double bed are two recessed shelves for your books and brew in the morning. Fastidiously crafted with a nod to Japanese design and with dimmable LEDs to really show them off. Every oak dovetail drawer in Shuggie glides effortlessly on blum soft close drawer runners like you're in a designer kitchen. There is even a huge 1.7m drawer that pulls out the back doors that double as storage and a lovely external table. There is of course a removable internal table too made from solid walnut worktop as the beautiful kitchen worktops are too. The walls are cladded in stunning western red cedar and offset by a deep green kitchen and sapele trim. This is a classy camper. Conversion Story: Shuggie was made by professional converter Roam and Slumber Campervans. ‘Sam, the man behind Roam and Slumber campervans has been making beautiful campers for years including Quincy and Ike featured on Quirky Campers. In his own words though, Shuggie is the culmination of all the 12 plus campers he has built over the last five years. Every little thing has been tweaked and improved from his conversion journey. The bed for instance can be formed in 60 seconds with a refined but simple mechanism. Simply pull one half of the bed over and slot in, then the second part and pop the cushions flat. It couldn't be easier. Shuggie sets a super high standard in conversions in every aspect, aesthetic, functionality, quality of material and style.

We had such a great experience! Sam was extremely helpful in organising things and went above and beyond to allow us to gave a great trip. The van itself was beautiful and the interior was really high quality. We slept very peacefully and were able to cook every meal in the van. Looking forward to our next chance to take another trip.
