Colonel Mustard

Description of Beds:The Colonel sleeps 2 adults and 2 children. The seating area at the rear of the van converts into a double bed for 2 adults, measuring approx 1.5 x 1.7m, with an option to extend a further 0.5m for the taller traveller. There is a raised removable bunk for a child and a fitted inflatable mattress which turns the cab into another bed suitable for kids/teens. Description of Seating:There are three belted seats in the front (including driver) and a further belted rear facing seat in the back, all with 3 point seatbelts. There is sociable seating for up to 8 people in the spacious living area. About the area:Colonel Mustard lives in south Birmingham. A 15 minute drive from central Birmingham, we are easily accessible by regular trains, buses and taxi's from the city centre. We are also close to the A38, M6 and M42 and close to Birmingham airport. Parking:If you drive to collect the Colonel, you are welcome to leave your car on our drive. Cooking Equipment: Colonel Mustard has a large L-shape kitchen with plenty of worktop space. There is a full size under counter fridge, gas powered oven, grill and 2 ring hob. In addition there is all you could possibly need in a fully equipped kitchen including: 8 sets of cutlery | 3x small sharp knives | vegetable peeler | tin opener | corkscrew/bottle opener | slotted spatula | slotted spoon | 1x small saucepan | 1x medium saucepan and lid | 1x frying pan | scissors | lighter | matches | citronella candles | wine stopper | flask | coffee percolator | stove top kettle | 4x large plates | 4x small plates | 4x bowls | 6x mugs | 4x egg cups | 4x plastic wine glasses | 6x plastic tumbler glasses | 2x chopping boards | salt and pepper grinders | cheese grater and a measuring jug. Water Facilities: There is a 12 litre removable water tank that supplies water to the sink via an electric pump and a 12 litre waste water tank. There are also optional extras of a Porta-Potti portable toilet, outdoor portable shower and pop up toilet/shower tent. Audio Equipment:Colonel Mustard has a CD player and FM/AM radio in the cab. A bluetooth speaker can be added as an extra so you can play your own music in the living space. Type of Heating: Diesel Heater Conversion Story:Colonel Mustard started life as a DHL delivery van. We bought him in Feb 2019 and spent a year converting him into our dream camper, creating a spacious, practical and sociable interior with plenty of useful storage. We made sure there was plenty of work surface area, dining/board game table space and a big fridge. Building our own gave us the opportunity to add plenty of quirky touches, using lots of OSB wood because we love how it looks, fluorescent yellow trims everywhere, CD and resin worktop, roof terrace, and many other bits you can discover for yourself. We find this van to be a practical and functional van for a family of four, or a luxurious campervan experience for two.
