About the Campervan

***Agatha Panthas will be available to hire from Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, up until the end of July 2024. From July 2024 she will be available from Boscastle in North Cornwall. Don't worry if you've already hired her, she will be waiting for you in Sutton Coldfield. But from July you will be able to drive in your own vehicle to Cornwall, park in Agatha's spot, then discover the wonders of Cornwall, Devon, and Dorset from the comfort of Agatha.*** Description of Beds: Agatha sleeps up to four people; two in the fixed bed and two on the sofa pull out bed. Description of Seating: Three belted seats in the front (including driver) with head rests. Two seats are suitable for a child car seat using the belt. About the area: Agatha lives in Sutton Coldfield and is parked on a driveway in a quiet residential street. She is very near to junction 6 of the M6. Parking: If you drive to collect Agatha, you are welcome to leave your car in her normal spot. If you travel by train the nearest train station is Wylde Green and is a stone’s throw away or a 5-minute walk. Agatha's owners will be happy to meet you at Wylde Green station, and help you with your luggage. If you travel by bus to Birmingham, you can either get a bus to Sutton Coldfield getting off just before the Horse and Jockey Pub, or a train to Wylde Green Station. The bus is a 10-minute walk. Cooking Equipment: Agatha has an oven with 3-ring hob and grill, so you can even make toast. She has a fridge and small freezer to keep your food in perfect condition, and your wine chilled. She has everything you could need to cook up a feast, including: 4 traditional tin camping mugs | 4 large traditional tin plates | 4 small side tin plates | 2 tin bowls | 2 plastic glasses | 2 bamboo beakers | cutlery for 4 | chopping board | kettle | large frying pan | large saucepan. There are all the utensils you will need including a wooden spoon, spatula | 1 sharp knife | tin opener | corkscrew/bottle opener. Agatha also has a washing up bowl | small dustpan and brush, and step for getting in and out of the van, and easily into bed. Water Facilities: There is a 70-litre water tank that supplies water to the sink, internal shower, and flushing toilet via a pump. The water heater quickly provides a hot shower or washing up water. Audio Equipment: Agatha has a radio and CD player, USB plug-in and blue-tooth so you can play your own music. She has a TV with DVD player for nights you want to stay in, or for your favourite show you don't want to miss. Type of Heating: There is a diesel-heater that ensures the van is cosy warm all year around. Conversion Story: Agatha first became an idea when we saw a van for sale on eBay that had been converted into a camper van. We soon found Quirky Campers and began exploring the possibility of converting our own van. We hired a couple of vans to get the feel of them. We wanted a van to suit all our needs of comfort with all the comforts of home, like a luxury hotel room on wheels. We wanted a van with a fixed bed, hot water, a shower, and a flushing toilet in its own private space; that was self-sufficient so we could get away from the crowds. We arranged for Studley Campers to do the conversion and Leo carefully went through our design and ideas making lots of helpful suggestions including a pull out sofa bed so that we would be able to sleep 4 people if needed. We lovingly painted the van ourselves, and made the soft furnishings some of which are very personal to us. We had a swivel twin seat put in to open the living space up for when there are more than two of you, and all the seating and sleeping available is very comfortable. We hope you enjoy her as much as we do.

We had the most enjoyable time hiring this camper van and couldn’t have asked for a smoother process. Everything was easy, from making the initial booking to picking up and dropping off the camper van. The owners were very helpful and were always available for any queries we had throughout the trip. The camper van itself was lovely and had everything we needed and more!
