Splinter

Description of Beds: Splinter comfortably sleeps two people and a dog. With a full king size bed, which easily converts into a living room and dining area. you’ll find plenty of space to relax, dine, and cosy up beside the fire. Description of Seating: In the cab you’ll find a driver and passenger seat. Both are leather, belted, and fully adjustable with the ability to swivel so you can face the wood burner on a cold evening. About the area: Splinter lives camouflaged in a quiet village, in the countryside of Somerset. Parking: If you drive to collect Splinter, you are welcome to leave your vehicle parked in the village, whilst you’re away. If you come by train, Splinter’s owners will be able to pick you up from Bath or Bristol station at an extra cost. Cooking Equipment: Inside Splinter you’ll find a double burner gas hob, a microwave (for use with electric hook up only) and a wood-burner that has an oven attachment. Splinter has everything you could need to cook up a delicious meal, including dining-ware and cutlery for up to four people, so you can even invite your friends around for dinner! Electrical Setup: Splinter is powered by two 12v batteries. These are charged by discreet roof-top solar panels, and a battery connection that charges whilst you’re driving! Alternatively, Splinter is capable of electric-hook up at campsites or any area that you can connect to mains power. We’ve got 12v usb sockets, 12v cigarette lighter sockets, and 240v plugs (for use with electric hook-up only). Water Facilities: In the kitchen area you’ll find Splinter’s beautiful hammered copper sink with matching copper mixer tap that provides hot and cold water. The shower also has hot and cold water, with a waterfall shower head and a separate handheld shower head. Please note: the hot water is for use with electric hook-up only. Type of Heating: Splinter’s Cubic Mini Grizzly Wood Stove will keep you toasty warm even in the colder months, and provides a very relaxing setting. As an alternative, we can provide an electric heater for electric hook up only. Conversion Story: After we converted our VW T4 ‘Woody' into a camper, we were hooked! We looked into buying a bigger van and were inspired to use the Mercedes Sprinter van due to its ability to navigate the narrow lanes in the UK. Splinter was lovingly converted by Mr Val Bryant, at Frenzy Designs, and his daughter Sophie Bryant, at Wild and Woody. Both share the same passion for unique van builds that make people smile. Splinter is crafted using sustainable timber products. We aimed to recreate the rustic charm and cosy cabin like interior that we had already achieved in our previous van build. This time, with more space and features to ensure comfort on short or long adventures. We followed this theme to their exterior, where you will find a wood printed wrap that will help you go stealthy into the countryside.
