Betty Blue

Description of Beds: Betty Blue sleeps up to two people, the bed doubles up as two benches and a table in the day. The bed is 174cm long and 140cm wide. A memory foam mattress topper is included with the hire. Description of Seating: The van has three belted seats including headrests, (including driver). The two passenger seats can accommodate a child car seat using a belt (not isofix). The social table in the living area can easily fit four people around it, and 6 if you don’t mind being cosy. Description of Electrical Setup: Betty blue has a 110 amp leisure battery which powers 3 different lights, a fan-assisted cool box, and 4 USB charging ports. There is also an 600 watt inverter which has two UK 3-pin sockets, (enough wattage to charge laptops/tablets). About the area: Betty Blue lives in Falmouth, which is on the south coast of Cornwall. The area has a lovely town, a harbour and 3 beautiful beaches to visit. Parking: If you drive to collect Betty then you are welcome to leave your vehicle in the car park outside the house. If you come by train it is just a 15 minute walk from Penmere train station. Let Betty’s owners know if you would like collecting from the station as this can be arranged. Cooking Equipment: Betty has a 2-burner hobs, a sink, 3 stackable pots, and one saucepan, a stove top coffee maker and all necessary cooking utensils. There is an enamel crockery and mugs set for 4, cutlery for 4, 6 bamboo cups and 2 brass wine glasses. There is a spice rack with all essential spices for cooking, a chopping board, kettle, a Joseph Joseph stackable mixing bowls and colander. 3 round stackable tupperware containers. There’s 1 sharp knife, tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener, a small dustpan and brush. She also has a windy smith log burner that you can use as a hot plate for slow cooking. Water and Sanitation: There is a 10 litre removable water tank under the sink that supplies water to the sink via a foot operated pump. Water is heated on the hob or wood burner in a kettle. Audio Equipment: There is a radio in the cab. Type of Heating: Betty Blue has a beautiful windy smith log burner, which efficiently and quickly heats the whole van, making her an ideal van for adventures in the colder months. Extra Information: Betty Blue has been made from solely up-cycled wood Conversion Story: Betty Blue began her life as a British Gas van, giving her her lovely blue hue. She was half converted when we got her, with the insulation, panelling and wood burner already in place. We finished off the rest over 6 months, continuing using up-cycled wood and decorated her interior in a unique grey and mustard Moroccan style theme.
