No family getaway would be complete without the one and only Walter. Located in Haywards Heath, you are a short drive from the sunny seaside town of Brighton and the picturesque South Down National Park. You could spend your first couple of days enjoying fish and chips by the pier and the rest of your trip hiking over the chalk hills.

Cleverly crafted for families with space and versatility in mind, Walter sleeps two in a fixed double bed and there are two overlapping bunks for your little ones to snuggle into come nightfall. To the front there are two swivel seats, a table and two further belted seats, giving your little ones the opportunity to read, colour or play games when in transit. The table is removable for when you’re in need of some additional space to dance or play charades.

Be comfortable wherever you choose to settle. Walter benefits from solar power, a toilet and an outdoor shower to hose off any sandy feet. A diesel heater has also been fitted so you can stay warm and toasty whatever the weather.

Envisage the sweet whistle of the stovetop kettle, accompanied by birdsong and a picture perfect view worthy of a place on an art gallery's wall - now that’s what we call living!

About the Campervan

Description of Beds: Standard double (135cm x 190cm) plus 2 sleep pods each 70cm wide and 170cm and 190cm long. All are fixed permanently and have real mattresses for a comfortable night's sleep. While the kid's bunks are large enough for a small adult, there is a 7 stone weight limit on them. Description of Seating: There are two swivel seats in the front of the cab. Behind them is a removable table and another 2 seats for the kids. The table makes journeys a breeze as kids are kept busy reading, colouring or playing cards. The seat belts are all 3 point and as the table is removable, is suitable for child car seats. One of the seats has Isofix for attaching a car seat. About the area: Walter lives in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. He has great connections being within easy reach of Gatwick airport, 45 minutes by train from London, 20 minutes from Brighton and access to the stunning south coast. Parking: There is on street parking around the corner from our home where you can safely park your car without any restrictions. If coming by rail we are a 5 minute taxi journey from the station or we can arrange to pick you up. Gatwick airport is close by and we'd be happy to arrange collection (at additional cost). The wastewater tank is situated under the sink for easy access when emptying. Audio Equipment: Car radio with Bluetooth plus a small Bluetooth USB rechargeable speaker. Type of Heating: Diesel heater to keep you cosy on those chilly nights. Toilet: Please note Walter's loo isn't integrated into the van, it's a freestanding chemical toilet. You can either use the supplied pop up toilet tent and have the loo outside or bring it into the van when you need to use it. If you require the chemical toilet it is a free of charge add on that you select when booking. Conversion Story: ‘Walter was originally converted by a family who loved to travel and explore. They created the dream family-friendly campervan for holidays, short breaks and day trips. A talented carpenter completed the conversion over the winter of 2018. After months of researching the best family vans we found Walter being featured on social media. We used his charms as a source of inspiration and were about to commission our own van when he came up for sale. It was meant to be! We are now the lucky owners of Walter and feel extremely proud to have such a unique van as part of our family. The layout is so clever and the kids love their sleeping pods. It's great having all the sleeping areas set up with 'real mattresses' without the need to make up beds from seating. After a long day adventuring or festival going we can just roll or climb into bed. With solar panels and heating Walter is ready to take you anywhere at any time of year. Warning: The payload of this vehicle is 400kg. This is below the Quirky Campers recommended payload of 460kg for a vehicle with 4 belted seats. Drivers need to be aware that the total weight of driver, passengers and baggage must be below 400kg to keep the vehicle within its legal Max Allowed Mass (MAM) of 3500kg.
