Ivan

Description of Beds: Ivan sleeps up to two people on a permanent double bed. 1.85m x 1.40m. The extra width provided by the Transit means 2 tall people (5’11’’) sleep fully stretched out in comfort. There is ample height above to sit up fully in bed (1m). Description of Seating: Two belted seats in the front (including driver) with headrests. The seating in the living area provides 2 large leather cushioned seats (0.8m x 0.6m each). Description of Electrical Setup: There are 4 sockets in the living area and 2 USB charging points on the bedside-lights. Ivan has 2 x 125 amp hour batteries 300 watts of solar panels and a 2000 watt investor. It is quite possible to stay off-grid for a number of days. The power consumption can be easily monitored to allow planning for extra charging should the weather not allow for as much sunlight. About the area: Ivan lives in a village on the southern outskirts of Bath and is parked off road on our drive in a quiet residential area. We are 2 mins from the A36 which is good access to leave South of the City or from which to join the A46 North of the City. We are 20 mins from the M5. Bath is within an hour's drive to Cheddar Gorge, Stonehenge, Glastonbury, CastleCombe, Bradford on Avon, Lacock. Within 3 hrs we can reach the coast of North Devon and Cornwall, the NewForest, Jurassic Coastline and the Gower Peninsula. Parking: If you drive to collect Ivan, you are welcome to leave your car in his normal spot on our drive. If you come by train, it is a 5 minute taxi ride from Bath Spa Station. Cooking Equipment: Ivan has a fully fitted gas oven, grill and three hobs serviced by a 20L underslung gas tank. Ivan has everything you could need to cook up a feast, including: 4 china mugs, 2 melamine cups, 4 large bamboo dining plates, 2 china bowls, cutlery for 4, steak cutlery for 4, 2 wine glasses and 2 glass tumblers, chopping board, kettle, toaster, large frying pan which can double up as an oven tray, large and small saucepan all with their interchangeable handle. There are cooking spoons and spatula, 2 sharp knives, 1pen knife, tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener, wooden and steel salad and nibble bowls. Ivan also has a French Press coffee maker, washing up bowl/bucket, and small dustpan and brush’. Water and Sanitation: The 50L underslung water tank supplies water to the sink and shower via an electric pump. The Truma heater (located under lounge seat) can run on either electric (ideal if you’re parked with hook up) or gas (if you’re off grid). The heater can provide both hot water and warm air heating. Solar panels on the roof keep the leisure batteries topped up on sunny days as does Ivan each time you drive. The clean water tank whilst freshly refilled is used for the sink, shower and kettle. The Thetford porta-potti is fixed within the shower cubicle. It is shower proof so that space in this little washroom is fully maximised. Heating vents can be opened in the shower room as well as under the lounge seating. Audio Equipment: The LG TV is connected ’to the wifi via the Huawei Cube. Free wifi is available via the Huawei Cube which can also be used as a blue tooth speaker. Type of Heating: The heating can be run from either electricity or gas and controlled by the thermostat. Conversion Story: Ivan was converted by Vantage Customs in Frome. They perfected our design with the challenge of creating space which didn’t feel cramped, lots of headroom, could carry bikes and a surfboard, cook a roast dinner in it, have a permanent roomy bed, indoor shower and toilet and generous seating with access to the cab from within in the form of a sliding door to allow privacy and better insulation. It is possibly the first of the new Ford Transit Models to have a full length double bed to fit width ways. This means absolutely no work to set up sleeping arrangements morning or night and also means Ivan has enviable garage space to carry 2 large bikes as well as ample more in his pull out garage drawer. The garage is lit and means peace of mind storing bikes when left with the van. D-rings in Ivan’s clad ceiling can also secure a full length surf board. The Fridge Freezer is unusually large (holding up to 74 litres), holding enough meals for 2 to last at least 5 days; picture ice -cream on tap, frozen meat for the bbq or home cooked meals and of course that roasted chicken. Ivan also has 3 solid hinged countertops which allow for additional cooking surfaces or desk space. The outdoor hinged table can be instantly set up on arrival with ease, as can the electric awning.
