The main living space can comfortably seat up to 4 adults, utilising the swivel passenger seats and the main sofa. Description of Electrical Setup: Casper has a state of the art, Victron off-grid electrical setup, professionally fitted by Off-Grid Campers. There is a Bluetooth battery charge monitor which connects to the in-camper tablet or to your mobile phone via an app, so you are always aware of how much battery there is remaining. The battery charges from the solar panels or from the split charge relay whilst the car is running. There is also an external power inlet should you have an electric hook-up facility. The van has 4 x mains plug sockets and 8 x USB charging points throughout the vehicle. The van has a 100AH lithium battery and the inverter has a max output of 900W. About the area: Casper lives in Bishops Lydeard, near Taunton, Somerset and is parked on a quiet village road. Less than 10 minutes’ drive away are the Quantock Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are close-by to Exmoor and all that has to offer. We are also just half an hour drive from West Somerset beaches such as Blue Anchor, Dunster, Watchet, and Minehead. Parking: If you drive to collect Casper, you are welcome to leave your car in his normal spot on the road or for an additional fee you can use the owner's driveway. If you come by train, Casper's owners will be able to pick you up from Taunton station for a small fee. We are also flexible in terms of where we can drop Casper off, within a 50 mile radius of Taunton. Cooking Equipment: Casper has everything you could need to cook up a feast, including: 4 ceramic mugs, 4 dinner plates, 4 bowls, 4 side plates, 4 plastic tumblers, cutlery for 4, 4 plastic wine glasses, a chopping board, stove top kettle, large and small frying pan, large and small saucepan. There is a spoon, ladle, spatula, scissors, knives, tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener, peeler and a dustpan and brush. Water and Sanitation: There is a 70-litre underslung fresh water tank in Casper that supplies water to the sink via a pump. The water is heated by a gas and/or electric water heater system controlled within the van. There is a separate 5 litre drinking water tank under the sink. Casper has a fixed indoor heated shower in its own enclosure and an outdoor cold-water shower on the rear door. There is a removable chemical toilet located in the shower cubicle. Audio Equipment: Casper has a Mercedes factory stereo system which is Bluetooth enabled and has aux-in socket so you can play your own music. Casper also has additional USB charging points. Type of Heating: Casper has a diesel heater with a thermostat controller. Storage: Along with multiple overhead cupboards, there is also plenty of storage under the sofa bed and a huge storage area under the main bed, big enough for suitcases, bike etc, accessed from the rear doors. Conversion Story: Casper began life as a humble builders' van. We bought him after a long and careful hunt and the project was started during lockdown. Casper was professionally converted by Cam who is a carpenter by trade and has since taken on van conversion projects full-time. The electrics were fitted by Steve () who is a qualified Victron expert, and the gas was fitted and certified by Olly at (). Owners, Nat and Tom chose the unique orange and black colour-scheme, as well as modern luxuries such as a diesel heater Casper was designed to be as versatile and practical as possible, making the best use of every inch, yet also high quality and stunning. The kitchen worktop and dining table is made from Pool Orford Cedar (from Dorset) with a live edge which is a beautiful feature. The sink has a removable top which doubles up as additional worktop surface, as does the foldable “flap” to the right of the hob so you can prepare food whilst still taking in the beautiful surroundings. The pull-out sofa-bed (and storage area) is a unique design to make the best use of the space and the sofa cushions then become the mattress. There is also a pull-down screen and projector for when the weather is not on your side!

We absolutely loved our two week stay in Casper! The van had everything we could possibly need, and became a really comfortable and cosy home for us. Tom was super helpful in ensuring we knew everything there was to know before we left, and both owners we're available when we needed some advice during the trip. We travelled to France and Switzerland and didn't have any major issues with Casper throughout the trip. We would definitely look to rent Casper again, and would recommend anyone else who is looking to rent a camper to choose Casper!
