Like his namesake Hamish is sturdy, cosy and you’re most likely to spot him in the Scottish highlands. Professionally crafted by Vulcan Van Conversions, every inch of Hamish’s design has been utilised to create a warm and welcoming space. With a sliding door and functional rear doors, on a hot summer's day you can simply open them up and let the natural light stream through. There is a fixed double bed, so there will be no faffing in the evening; you can simply slide right in after a blissfully tiring day exploring the local sights.

Equipped with a three burner hob, a fridge to keep your drinks chilled and plenty of worktop space, there’s no better place to whip up a feast. Whether you’re cooking a 3 course meal for that special someone or a hike fueling pasta dish for one. Just imagine watching the sunset with a glass of your favourite wine and a bowl of delicious food in your hand.

Campsite or off-grid, the choice is yours! Hamish has been fitted with everything you need to live comfortably on the road. There's an outdoor shower, perfect for washing off sandy paws, solar power to keep your gadgets charged and a diesel heater to keep you warm on those chillier nights.

Please Note: Hamish has a minimum age restriction of 25 for all drivers.

About the Campervan

Description of Beds: Hamish sleeps two adults comfortably in his full size double bed and recently upgraded to include a child's size bed which is set up in the cab area. We will prepare Hamish with a double duvet and two pillows - Additional duvets and pillows can be added on if desired. Please request the 3rd bed set up in the add on's section, if not selected we won't include it to increase the storage space in the garage. Description of Seating: Three belted seats in the front (including driver) with headrests. Description of Electrical Setup: Hamish is made for Off Grid Adventures with a combination charging system which powers the 210Ah of batteries through solar and split charge relay while on the move. The beauty of Hamish's electrics is that you really shouldn't need to think about them at all as the power available is more than enough to power everything available. Hamish has USB ports in the Cab, Kitchen and Bed areas for charging your phone and an inverter if you need to charge your laptop. About the area: Hamish was born in Aviemore and has grown up in the temperamental climate that we experience, therefore he knows how to keep you warm or cool depending on the season. He feels very at home surrounded by the hills and loves getting out to roam around the roads of the Highlands. We are located 30 miles south of Inverness in the heart of The Cairngorm National Park and deceivingly close to the very centre of Scotland, so whether your adventure takes you on the NC500, The Whisky Trail, The Isle of Skye, The Outer Hebrides or towards either coast, we are in a great place to start. Parking: If you drive to collect Hamish, you are welcome to leave your car in his normal spot. If you come by train, we will be able to pick you up from Aviemore Train Station. If arriving into Inverness Airport, a taxi can be arranged for around £70 or public transport is available. Cooking Equipment: Hamish has three gas hobs inside and comes with a custom made BBQ stand that can be used with disposable BBQ's outside. Hamish comes with everything you need to stay off grid and live comfortably: 2 Coffee Mugs, 2 Drinking Cups, 2 Large Plates, 2 Medium Plates, 2 Cereal Bowls, Cutlery for Two, 2 Wine/Beer Glasses, 2 Chopping Boards, 2 Sharp Knives, Bread Knife, Soup/Stewing Pot, Saucepan, Frying Pan, Kettle, Corkscrew, Scissors, Tin Opener and Kitchen Utensil Set. The kitchen set up also includes a full sized sink, small bin and cleaning supplies including a wee dustpan and brush. Water and Sanitation: Hamish has an outdoor shower situated inside the rear doors that is ideal for rinsing off after visiting the beach or having a swim in a loch. It is also really handy to rinse off your dogs paws or your boots after a muddy hike. We can include a portable toilet which can be used inside or outside in the provided pop toilet tent. The fresh water supply for the sink and shower comes from a 25L that are stored and easily accessible in the garage space. The sinks 25L waste container is also positioned for simplicity and easy access in a cupboard beneath the cooker. Type of Heating: Hamish has a diesel heater to keep you cosy when needed. Conversion Story: Hamish is the latest chapter in our story as Vulcan Van Conversions. From our workshop near Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands we have been converting and selling campers since 2018. Hamish is the first conversion that we designed and created with the intention to hire out and we are very excited to share him with you. We have taken our design and production knowledge from a combined 40 years of Blacksmithing/Engineering and intertwined them with our ever evolving woodworking skills to create another cosy, robust, sturdy conversion that's beauty is felt in its simplicity, a little like the heilan coo that Hamish has adopted his name from.
