Get a taste of the tutti frutti family experience in the lushest, most colourful campervan out there. She may be sleek and stealthy on the outside, but inside Blackberry oozes fun and games for all the family, her bright vibes will be keeping everyone cheerful, even on the dullest of days. A fully equipped campervan that can fit up to 4 adults, or 2 adults and 3 teens or children, Blackberry has been built with the big adventures in mind.

The adjustable beds allow you to comfortably sleep the whole family, while leaving space for everyone to sit around a table and tuck into a family dinner or throw caution to the wind and get stuck into games night...We take no responsibility for upturned boards:) Blackberry can go fully off-grid, and is ready for every kind of venture. Think cosy winter trips with the woodburner keeping your chestnuts roasting, the in-van guitar ready for singalongs, or warm summer nights under the awning watching the sun go down, while sitting around a campfire with a glass of bubbly, safe in the knowledge the kids are already tucked up in bed right next door.

Due to her innovative use of space and design, you’ll never feel cramped in this glorious van. Tried and tested on trips long and short, Blackberry is a campervan just ripe to be picked, pop her in your basket and get ready for family experiences that your kids will remember forever.

About the Campervan

Description of Beds: Blackberry’s colourful interior is spacious enough to host five people (4 adults, or 2 adults and up to 3 children). The lower bed dimensions are 176cm x 200cm, so it can roughly sleep up to three teenagers, (Dependent on size and whether they’re up for sharing!). The upper bed is 138cm x 190cm, and has a max weight restriction of 170kg. The top bed moves up and down on a motorised system which lowers and raises the bed into 4 different positions. Description of Seating: The van can hold five passengers in belted seats, all with three point seatbelts. Due to weight restrictions it can only hold 4 adults, or 2 adults and up to 3 children maximum (with iosfix fittings). There are two front seats that can be rotated to face backwards into the van, to make a little sofa. The dining table has been known to have six sitting cosily. Description of Electrical Setup: Blackberry is fitted with a 360w solar panel, a relay, a battery charger, mains hook up, a 300w inverter and a 120Ah battery. There are 4 x 240v sockets powered from the inverter and 14 x usb sockets (also 2 x 240v mains sockets when the van is hooked up). About the area: Bruton is an idyllic small town with many art galleries and eateries. We are an hour south from Bath or Bristol, and only a few hours from the Sea. Depending on which direction you travel you can easily reach the beautiful coastal areas of Dorset, Somerset and Devon or Cornwall. Parking: We have the option of driveway parking or we are just a 10 mins walk from Bruton train station. You are welcome to leave your car in Blackberry’s space on our driveway. We are also only ten minutes walk from Bruton Train station and pick up is available. There are direct trains to London, Bristol and Bath plus many links through to the nearby station of Castle Cary. Cooking Equipment: Blackberry has a fully equipped Kitchen with two gas hobs and an integrated sink, as well as a grill and a hob space on the wood burner too. We also provide a portable outdoor gas stove and an electric fridge. There are a variety of pots and pans, a teapot and cafetiere, x5 plates, bowls, mugs, cups, cooking utensils, a bottle opener, a folding colander, a jug, a chopping board, two sharp knives and a bread knife. We also supply your trip kitchen essentials; salt and pepper, olive oil, teabags, coffee and sugar. Water and Sanitation: There is a 50L water tank which is filled from the e tank feeds the kitchen sink via an electric pump. The van has a separate pop-up toilet tent with a loo. You can heat the kettle on either the woodburning stove or the gas hob for hot water. You can add an outdoor toilet and toilet tent on to the extras when booking. Audio Equipment: Blackberry has an integrated touch-screen Kenwood sound system and display which supports apple car play via USB or bluetooth. Type of Heating: The “Windy Smithy” wood burning stove is at the heart of the van and keeps Blackberry and her contents very toasty on even the coldest winter night. Some logs are provided as is an axe shovel and heat proof glove. The burner also comes in handy as an addition to the kitchen space. Extra Information: A very colourful bespoke awning hooks onto the roof via x3 carabinas and then is held up by two wooden poles and guide ropes. This takes about 5 minutes to put e van also comes equipped with 4 outdoor chairs and a fold out table. You can add these on the extras when booking. Conversion Story: We are Floss and Mags and we love our Blackberry camper. Blackberry began life as a panel van. We bought her in 2017 and did the full conversation. Initially converted for a summer road trip around Europe with our teenage children, we have had great times with her and made several upgrades along the way. Assisted by experienced carpenters and boat builders we have honed our design with additions such as a bluetooth sound system, a reversing camera and sat nav, plus finding a home for Blackberry’s guitar and a wood burner, both of which have contributed to some great cosy winter trips, Christmas with the family and epic trips up to the highlands. It is fully insulated with hard foam which not only regulates the temperature brilliantly but also keeps things quiet. The unique seating arrangement allows for multiple configurations creating a sofa, another eating area and an extension to the kitchen. Passengers also have a nice high seating position so they get their share of the view and the action. We recently gave Blackberry the distinctive interior painted finish, stealth on the outside but Frida Khalo/ juicy fruits vibes on the inside. To top it off an old friend made us the amazing awning which is a great new addition. We have had so much family fun camping in her with all the many different configurations to play with, she’s like a transformer. We hope you have as much fun in her as we have, playing games and singing songs along the way! Warning: The payload of this vehicle is 400kg. This is below the Quirky Campers recommended payload of 550kg for a vehicle with 5 belted seats. Drivers need to be aware that the total weight of driver, passengers and baggage must be below 400kg to keep the vehicle within its legal Max Allowed Mass (MAM) of 3500kg
