As sweet and ready for adventure as her fluffy namesake, Snowy is a beautifully converted van, with clean lines and stunning wood carpentry that will make you feel like you’re staying in a luxury wood cabin. With everything you could need for adventures far and wide, Snowy is ready when you are.

The real stand out feature of this campervan is the pop-out kitchen that allows you to take your cooking into the outside world, morning coffee in a forest, lunch in the mountains, or making dinner by a serene lake with a glass of wine in hand, Snowy is taking al-fresco dining to a whole new level.

The little touches inside this van are what make it so unique, from the intricate artwork, bluetooth speaker, and even an aeropress coffee maker, you really will be spoilt rotten with all that Snowy has to offer. Snowy’s owners were inspired in the decor by bringing the great outdoors into campervan space, and if you just take a look at Snowy’s interior, you can see how well they succeeded, what better van to carry you into the wilds?

About the Campervan

Description of Beds: Snowy sleeps 2 people comfortably in a double bed configuration. It measures 140cm in width, which is standard for a double, but a little less than standard in length at 180cm. (I am 181cm tall and sleep without any trouble). For those well over 6ft tall, it might be a bit of a stretch. The bed converts into the day seating area - some days you will leave it set up as a bed, some days you will convert it back to seating, the choice is yours! Description of Seating: The van has 3 belted seats in the cab. In the rear of the van, when the table is set up, you can fit 4 around very comfortably. There is also an extra seat that is on top of the hidden toilet (which further doubles as a mini office with a clip-on table). This same clip-on table also connects to the interior of the rear door, so when it’s a nice day you can set up your breakfast/office outside. The middle section of the “U shape” living area is removable and can be placed outside for even more seating. There is also a camping table with 1 x camping chair and 1 x low “dune chair”. Description of Electrical Setup: Snowy has solar, which powers 6 x USB points and 1 x 240v socket (but you can only run 12v appliances on the solar.) Snowy also has an inverter, which means the leisure battery (for the fridge/lights etc.) is continually charged while you drive. In addition, Snowy has 1 x 240v socket for when you are connected to Electric Hook Up (EHU) at a campsite or similar. This allows you to run any household appliance like you normally would. About the area: We are based in London inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez), but our campervan is a newer variety and therefore Ulez compliant (which also comes in handy in cities like Bath, Bristol, etc). Parking: There is always street parking available in a safe location and we can provide visitor vouchers for £5 per day. Alternatively, we are sometimes open to discussions about drop off or a train station meet up/exchange. Cooking Equipment: Just like your kitchen at home, Snowy has an oven and 3 burner hob running on gas. This is a lived in van, so you have all of the kitchen utensils and equipment you need to cook up a feast. The Aeropress coffee machine gets a notable mention! All kitchen essentials are included, e.g. washing up bowl, small dustpan and brush, tea towels, and anything else you can think of. The highlight of the kitchen is that it can slide out so that in lovely weather you can actually do your cooking outdoors! Water and Sanitation: We have a 70L cold water tank that supplies water to the sink via an electric pump. In addition we have a portable 15L drinking water container. We boil the kettle for hot water for the dishes etc. We have Thetford portable toilet unit in its own enclosure, hidden under a seat. It is fixed in place, so you don’t need to move anything to use it, but of course it can be removed for when it is time to empty it. Audio Equipment: In the cab we have Bluetooth, radio and a CD player (with a selection of classics provided) In the back, we have a Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth speaker to connect our laptops and phones - it sounds awesome! Type of Heating: We have a small electric heater that can be used, but only when you are connected to EHU. We have found this sufficient for spring/summer/autumn. And of course we don’t go anywhere without a trusty hot water bottle and extra blankets! Sometimes boiling the kettle for 3 mins in the morning is a godsend as it kills the chill! Extra Information: We have an enormous roof terrace… yep…! Just climb the ladder at the back and see the view from a different perspective. We use it for some yoga, catching the last rays before sunset or even a it of star gazing in the nicer weather. Conversion Story: We have always loved watching Tiny House and Van Conversion stories on YouTube, seeing all of the amazing designs on Quirky Campers was also a big inspiration in getting started. In 2020 we bought the van and started designing, with our overall concept being, ‘Let the outside in’. For us, the van means adventure and so we named it Snowy, after Tin Tin’s adventurous little white dog. We contacted a master carpenter (Carwyn Lloyd Jones) to help us realise our dream. We prepared our ideas for layout and design and worked with Carwyn on the core structure as well as the little flourishes. And with the help of some talented friends, the van was finally finished in 2022. The interiors of wood, Mexican tiling, William Morris fabrics and original artworks (by us!) give the van a sleek but homely look and feel. There are even some references to some of our favourite films and characters to look out for!
