About the Campervan

Description of Beds: Berty sleeps 2 adults with ease and has plenty of wiggle room with the fixed double bed and extra flare on the side of the van. Description of Seating: The living area can take 3 people when both captains' seats are turned, for that time when you have a friend visiting. The table at the window is a great space to have dinner, play cards or just chill with views out of both side windows. The window at the dining table opens. There's a sturdy pop up table attached to the worktop which can be used for dining too. Once both seats are turned round, pushed back and stealth mode is activated, this really opens up the area. The projector screen can be then used for those Netflix and chill kinda vibes. The projector can also be used in the sleeping area if you want to move the movie night over there . The van has a large hanging wardrobe & 7 overhead storage cupboards with sectional, dimmable lighting for every mood. Electrical Setup: Berty has an impressive electrical setup including Sargent EC155 Power management system, EC51 Control Panel, 5 LED bar graph for battery voltage and fresh water levels, waste tank full indicator, battery protector which automatically cuts-off (both batteries), pump control with pump active indication, 140 amp sterling split charge relay, upgraded to bypass the DC charging system which charges leisure batteries while driving, sargent unit disconnected from vehicle battery which prevents accidental draining. Berty also has a fridge wired directly to leisure batteries and can be on while driving. There’s a 1x 240w eco-worthy solar panel system where the solar panels are set to charge leisure batteries only, 2 x Leisure batteries, 240v hook up mounted on side of van, 4x double USBs (kitchen, living space, bedside nooks), 1 x 12v socket (kitchen), 2 x 240v household plugs sockets (side-entrance, kitchen, living space.) About the area: Berty lives in Glasgow and is parked in a quiet secure car park which is very easy to find by car or public transport. Parking: If you drive to collect Berty, you’re welcome to leave your car in his normal spot. If you come by train, Berty’s owner will be able to pick you up from Blantyre Train station. Cooking Equipment: Berty’s a foodies dream on the road with his Thetford/Spinflo triple burner hob, oven & grill. Berty has everything you could need to cook up a feast and get things happening, including: 2 traditional tin camping mugs, 2 melamine cups and 2 bowls, 2 large bamboo dining plates, cutlery for 2, 2 stainless steel wine glasses, chopping board, kettle, large and small frying pan, large and small saucepan, steamer. There are 2 bamboo cooking spoons, 3 sharp knives, tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener. Berty also has a café tier as well as a colander, washing up bowl, and small dustpan and brush. Cleaning supplies are included so doing the dishes and the after-dinner clean up will be made easy. The van the myth and the legend called Berty comes fitted with a Maxxair MaxxFan Dulux & remote fan which comes in handy while cooking or just to circulate the air. To keep things cool as a cucumber there's a Dometic 65 Litre Cruise Elegance Compressor Fridge Freezer (12v / 240v). It also has an easy leave master kill switch in the kitchen (turn off everything other than the fridge) Water and Sanitation: Berty comes equipped with a shower fitted with Ecocamel shower head which has unique inbuilt Aircore Technology that injects air directly into the water stream to use less water while still experiencing a more powerful shower. It also has Thetford toilet that will last about 45 flushes or 3/4 days using 17ltr of water and turns easily for spacious showers. The bathroom’s Maxxfan toilet fan will direct any smell outside the van pronto. The Truma 4k boiler system will heat up 10 litres of water in under 30 mins giving you water for the shower or to wash up. There's a 75L underslung insulated fresh water & 50L waste tank. Audio Equipment: Berty has the main van radio for audio only. He comes with a Sony Bluetooth speaker if needed which gives off plenty of sound and can be charged using the multiple usb charger scattered over the van unless you bring your own. Type of Heating: This van comes equipped with the very efficient Truma 4e combination heater with integrated heating elements for additional electrical mode. This will heat the van and water very quickly using little energy. It can be used with electric on hook up and LPG when off grid making gas, electrical and mixed modes all possible. This is very user friendly and a video will be supplied to show what buttons to press. There’s also a 25L underslung Gas LPG tank that will be full on pick up and should last around 3/4 days. Conversion Story: Berty began life as a DPD delivery van (not his fault). I bought him after scouting him out at the very bottom of the UK and took him under my wing and he was converted into a fully fledged Coddiwompling vessel that will take you and your other on the adventure you seek. Warning: The payload of this vehicle is 219kg. This is below the Quirky Campers recommended payload of 280kg for a vehicle with 2 belted seats. Drivers need to be aware that the total weight of driver, passengers and baggage must be below 219kg to keep the vehicle within its legal Max Allowed Mass (MAM) of 3500kg

The camper van itself was incredibly comfortable, clean, and well-equipped—everything we needed was right at our fingertips. The bed was cozy and spacious enough for both of us to sleep soundly after long days of adventure. The kitchen area made it easy to prepare simple meals on the go, and we even had enough space to store everything we needed for the trip. Keep in mind that this Van is of manual transmission. So if you can not drive manual or do not feel comfortable with it, this van will not work for you on the narrow roads through Isle of Skye. One of the highlights of the trip was the freedom we felt being able to park and wake up to stunning views each day—whether it was beside a tranquil loch or overlooking the dramatic coastline of Skye. The van gave us the flexibility to stop wherever we wanted and fully immerse ourselves in Scotland's natural beauty. We also appreciated the fantastic customer service from the rental company. They were friendly, informative, and made sure we had everything we needed for a smooth experience, from clear instructions on how to use the van's amenities to great recommendations for scenic spots to visit. This trip was truly the adventure of a lifetime, and the camper van played a huge role in making it so special. If you're looking for a fun and flexible way to explore Scotland, we highly recommend this camper van for your journey. We can't wait to do it again!
