Brenda is the York based campervan that will blow your mind. Stunningly converted from a horsebox and transformed into a Moroccan inspired sanctuary on wheels. Brenda is a one of a kind conversion for the whole family to enjoy. From the inside out Brenda will be turning heads, her powerful purple exterior is just the beginning. The beautiful interior is filled with lovingly hand-crafted details like the Moroccan Arch and geometric design highlights that run throughout. This is not just a campervan, it’s a travelling work of art.

Pet friendly and festival friendly, Brenda is the ultimate campervan companion for any kind of adventure. Sleeping up to four in a king size bed, and over the cab bed there's plenty of space for friends, family and all your gear. The spacious seating area is perfect for evenings playing games or sit down dinners. If the weather is in your favour, make the most of one of Brenda’s unique features, the cleverly converted horse ramp that is now her outdoor veranda, perfect for relaxing in the sunshine.

Filled with every modern feature you could possibly need, from a hot shower, to a wood-burning stove, to the skylight for cosy nights of stargazing, the only limits to Brenda’s possibilities are your imagination; a luxury romantic getaway, unique accommodation for festivals, or family road trip that the kids will be talking about for years to come.

About the Campervan

Please note: Brenda requires a Category C1 or equivalent driving licence, allowing the driver to drive vehicles over 3.5T. Description of Beds: Brenda sleeps two adults and two children comfortably (the king size bed in the back is enormous and disappears into the wall during the day). Two small adults could also fit in the over cab bed, but headroom is limited. The wall bed is a spacious 150 cm x 175 cm, the bed over the cab is 125 cm x 210 cm with headroom starting at 60 cm on the open side and sloping to 10cm at the front wall. It is accessed by a ladder and although there is some netting to cover the drop, we don’t recommend very small children or babies sleep up here alone. Our 8-year-olds manage fine without a net. Description of Seating: Brenda seats four. There is a driver’s seat and a bench seat in the front, with one three-point seat belt and one lap belt. A further seat in the back, sideways facing, with three-point seatbelt and porthole access to the cab. There are no Isofix fittings and children are not permitted to travel in sideways facing seats in the rear of vehicles. So, at the moment, only one front seat is suitable for a child car seat (using seatbelt) and one more for a booster seat/ older child. There is a dining area at the back with bench seats which comfortably seats five people with access through the stable door onto the elevated, Astroturf veranda. Description of Electrical Setup: Brenda is built to be independent, she has a mains hook-up, two leisure batteries, and a 280W solar panel which we have found is plenty for the fridge, lights, water pump, sound system and phone charging when living off-grid. The leisure batteries are charged when driving or when hooked up to the mains, as well as by the solar panels. Brenda has eight 12v USB charging ports and two three-pin plug sockets with an inverter for charging laptops or low-powered 240v equipment (not hair dryers etc). About the area: York is a wonderful city full of Viking history and only a 30-minute drive from the Yorkshire Moors on one side and the Dales on the other. It is the perfect jumping off point for exploring the Lake District, Scotland and the North of England. We are 90-minutes from the beaches at Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood’s Bay. Parking: There is plenty of hard standing space to leave your car in front of our house, behind a 6-foot fence and electric gate (There is ungated pedestrian access). If you come by train, Poppleton Station is a 2-minute walk. Cooking Equipment: Brenda has a three-ring gas hob and a small SMEV gas oven and grill, as well as a domestic, eye-level fridge freezer (90 litre) and large Belfast sink with brass farmhouse style tap. Brenda has everything you would expect to find in a kitchen, six ceramic plates, mugs, side plates, bowls, real glasses, and fabulous gold cutlery. Plus plastic crockery and wine glasses for kids and picnics. There is a stove top kettle, frying pan, 3 saucepans, cafetiere, sharp knives, scissors, bread knife, sieve, mixing bowls, masher, ladles and whisks etc. You could even bake a cake if you chose to! There is also a dish draining rack, cleaning products and a small dustpan and brush in the cupboard under the sink. Water and Sanitation: Brenda has a glorious, tiled, indoor shower heated by the LPG boiler. There is a removable, electric porta-potty (toilet) with 15L flush and 21L waste tank, which usually lives in the shower enclosure for privacy and can be included as an add-on. Brenda has a 200L underslung water tank which provides water to the kitchen sink and shower by electric pump. She has a 75L waste-water tank which empties through a tap by the passenger door. Audio Equipment: Brenda has integrated Bluetooth, surround-sound wall speakers in the back (just play directly from your phone) and a new Pioneer car stereo in the cab with Bluetooth and CD player. Type of Heating: Brenda has LPG Propex blown air heating, just turn it on and the hot air warms her up very quickly. You can also use the vents for cold air circulation. As well as Propex heating, Brenda also has a wood burner for romantic, snowy nights. Extra Information: Brenda has a Velux electric curved glass skylight above the king size bed. Just press a button to open the roof to the trees, sky and stars. A split barn door leads directly onto a raised veranda platform with Astroturf so you can sit out in your own garden, no matter where you are. Four folding chairs can be included as add-ons. Conversion Story: Brenda is a bespoke creation first dreamed up in 2019 as a Moroccan and Geometric-inspired tiny home, converted from a 1998 horsebox with plenty of space in the back and the horse ramp turned into a raised veranda. Converted by the unparalleled Ash at Supertramped, this luxurious 'housebox' has a stunning Moroccan arch, natural-edge wood counters, blue tiling, and every modern comfort. Brenda features a spacious king-sized wall bed, a cosy double bed over the cab, full kitchen and a versatile dining area with ample seating. With an Electronic Velux skylight, a wood burner, hot indoor shower and a shimmering disco ball, Brenda really brings the romance to travelling. She eventually made it home to York in 2023 and she continues to remind us to slow down and appreciate the journey.
