About the Campervan

Description of Beds: Kiki is fitted with a super comfy, fixed double bed which is 180cm long. It's about a 90cm hop up onto the bed, so probably not ideal for those with limited mobility. Description of Seating: Kiki has three belted seats in the front (including the driver) with headrests. There are two seats in the back, either side of the pull out dining table. Description of Electrical Setup: Kiki has a 100ah lithium battery and 2000W inverter with electrical hook up and a 200W solar panel. There are 4 plug sockets as well as 4 USB charging points. About the area: Kiki lives in Felton, a lovely Northumberland village between Alnwick (with its famous castle featured in the Harry Potter movies) and Morpeth. To the East are limitless beautiful and gloriously quiet beaches stretching from Tynemouth up to the Firth of Forth. The closest of these is only about 6 miles away, which gets you to the stunning village of Warkworth with it’s mediaeval castle and hermitage as well as a range of shops and cafes. 5 minutes drive from there lie both Alnmouth, a gorgeous coastal village where the River Aln joins the sea and the lovely fishing town of Amble. Head out West to the stunning Northumberland National Park where there are miles and miles of incredible walks through the Simonside Hills or head down to the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall. There is certainly plenty of scope for lots of exploring and camping without driving too far. Parking: If you are driving to collect Kiki, you're welcome to park in her space on the driveway where your car will be safe to stay for the duration of your trip. If catching the train up, we will do our best to collect you from Morpeth Train Station, but if we're not able to, it's only about a £20 taxi/Uber ride from Morpeth Train Station which is on the East Coast Mainline, about 15 mins North of Newcastle by train. Cooking Equipment: Kiki has everything you could need to cook up a feast, including 4 traditional tin camping mugs, 4 cups and 4 bowls, 4 large dining plates and 4 side plates, cutlery for 4, 2 plastic wine glasses, a chopping board, a kettle, frying pan, large and small saucepan, and steamer. There are also wooden spoons, a knife set, a tin opener, and corkscrew/bottle opener. Kiki also has a cafetiere as well as a colander, washing up bowl, and small dustpan and brush. Water and Sanitation: Kiki has a lovely indoor fixed and handheld shower. She is heated and has hot water provided by a Truma gas heater in the boot, the water comes from an underslung tank. The "portapotty" typically lives under one of the seats, but fits snugly inside the shower area when in use. Audio Equipment: Kiki has her own bluetooth speaker that lives in one of the cupboards, and a radio to keep you amused in the cab while driving. Type of Heating: The Truma heater in the boot works directly from the LPG gas tank and provides both hot air and water. Extra Information: Conversion Story: Kiki is a rescue van originally born in France, but grew up in Leeds before she came into our care via Global Vandemics Conversions in Wigan. She began life as a humble builders' van (albeit one with air-con in the cab). We bought her after a long and careful hunt. She was converted in 2022 and so despite her well worn cab she's a super smooth ride, a comfy place to travel and the living space is brand new, designed by us for the perfect luxury camping experience with every detail carefully considered as our own thoroughly loved home from home.

We took KIKI on a weeks trip in Northumberland and then around Scotland for our first staycation with our new dog, Ralphy. We have been fortunate to travel the world and I have to say that it was one of the most memorable trips we've ever have had. The campervan catered for all our needs, drives very well with power steering, and we got it for a competitive price, so my wife and I have now got the bug for it!
