About the area: Located in West London, Olive is on the gateway to numerous incredible counties. Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Hampshire, Dorset, Buckinghamshire, and Essex are all within easy reach of 100 miles which Olive can get to on a single charge. Olive lives in Hammersmith in West London and is parked on a residential street. Description of Beds: Olive has two double beds and one single hammock bed which can sleep a young child. One of the double beds is in the traditional pop-top, which sleeps two adults or 1 adult and 2 children, this can also be used without the bed pulled down for extra headspace and room during the day. The other double bed is in the main space of the van, this also fits two adults, or one adult and two children. Olive can sleep up to 5 comfortably. Description of Seating: Olive has belted seating for up to 6 passengers when driving. When you are camping, we recommend having breakout space outside of the van such as a tent or awning as 6 people living in the van could be a bit of a squeeze! There is an awning available to hire that attaches to the side of the van. Olive does not have isofix fittings. There are two belted seats in the front (including the driver) with headrests and four further belted seats in the rear. The seats have three-point belts. The four rear seats are all suitable for a child car seat. Description of Electrical Setup: Olive has solar panels and an inverter, as well as a full EV battery, so can go fully off-grid. There are 2 plug points in the van that work when the van is hooked up at a campsite. We use a 12V converter in the front of the van also for USB phone charging. Parking: Olive lives on a residential London street with residential parking restrictions from Monday - Friday, 9-5pm, so it is not recommended to leave your vehicles there unless you are renting on the weekend as there is an hourly parking charge from the local authority. Renters need to organise local parking via one of the local parking options if driving to collect Olive, or to travel by public transport. The owners can meet you at nearby stations, subject to availability. Cooking Equipment: Olive is equipped with a range of pots, pans, cutlery, washing up buckets, and a drip coffee filter. In addition to the two gas hobs inside there is also a Weber gas camping BBQ available to rent as an optional extra. Olive has everything you could need to cook up a feast, including 4 traditional tin camping mugs, 4 melamine cups, 4 bowls, 4 large bamboo dining plates, cutlery for 4, 2 stainless steel wine glasses, a chopping board, a kettle, large and small frying pans, large and small saucepans, sharp camping knives, scissors, a tin opener and a corkscrew/bottle opener, a stove-top espresso machine, a washing up bowl, and a small dustpan and brush. Water and Sanitation: Olive does not have a toilet, shower facilities or drinking water. Olive has a 10-litre removable water tank that supplies water to the sink via a pump. Audio Equipment: Olive has a great sound system with USB plug-in so you can play your own music. Type of Heating: Olive has a plug in fan heater that is very effective at heating the van. Pet Information: Olive is pet-friendly and open to all animals. Extra Information: Olive is fully electric and was originally imported from North America, so is left hand drive - which just adds to the character! She is a head-turner and looks fantastic at campsites and festivals. Conversion Story: Olive’s van story began when her owners decided they wanted to convert a lovely old classic VW camper to fully electric. After a long search, they found Olive in East Sussex, the previous owners had her converted in Devon having been imported from North America and looked after her well. She was converted to fully electric by Jack's Garage in London. About the Owner: We are a family of 6 and are heavily into the outdoors and outdoor based activities. We are passionate climate advocates and believe that the best carbon neutral approach is to convert an existing car into electric, rather than buy new. Our kids range from 2 years to 12 years old. Eventually we would love to have a solar powered canal boat to complement Olive! Warning: The payload of this vehicle is 554kg.
