Description of Beds: Cordelia Rose sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults and a child. She has a fixed double bed which measures 135cm x 180cm and a pull out bed which converts from the sofa area at the front measuring 100cm x 180cm. Description of Seating: The L-shaped sofa area at the front of the van will comfortably seat 3 adults. There are three belted seats with headrests in the cab (including the driver). The two passenger seats are suitable for a child car seat. Description of Electrical Setup: Cordelia Rose has a 400w solar panel and an inverter making her suitable for off-grid living. She has two 120ah leisure batteries and electric hook-up capability. Internally she has 3 3-pin sockets linked to the hook-up and 2 3-pin sockets linked to the inverter. In addition, she has 3 USB sockets when on a hook-up. When off-grid there are 2 USB points and 2 USBc fast charging points. About the area: Cordelia Rose is parked on a quiet residential street in Brixham, located within one of the UNESCO Global Geoparks. Known as the English Riviera, it has fabulous beaches and a great coastline to explore. There is also easy access to the South West National parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor. Also close by is the picturesque South Hams area, including Salcombe and Dartmouth, and the quirky town of Totnes (allegedly twinned with Narnia!) Alternatively it’s a great spot to head on down to Cornwall or go east for Dorset and the Jurassic Coast. Parking: If you drive to collect Cordelia Rose, you are welcome to leave your car in her normal spot. If you come by train, we will be able to pick you up from either Totnes, Newton Abbot or Paignton train stations. Cooking Equipment: Cordelia Rose has a cooker with three hobs, a small oven and grill. She has everything you need to prepare delicious meals, including; large and small frying pans, large and small saucepans, baking tray, kettle, mixing bowl, colander, sieve, small bowls, weighing scales, measuring cups and spoons, 4 ceramic dinner plates, 4 side plates, 4 pudding bowls, 4 pasta bowls, 4 mugs (more available), 4 wine glasses, 4 tumbler glasses, cutlery set for 4, chopping board, sharp knives, bread knife, cooking utensils, corkscrew/bottle opener, teapot, cafetiere, washing up bowl and drainer and a small dustpan and brush. Water and Sanitation: Cordelia Rose has the option of a portable eco-friendly toilet which comes with a separate toilet tent. She has an outdoor shower with hot water provided by the gas water heater. It’s located between the back doors, and can be used with a thick waterproof shower curtain to provide privacy, or it can be used in the separate toilet tent. The water heater heats 5 litres at a time so it’s more of a quick shower than a long soak! The 60 litre underslung tank provides hot and cold water to the sink with a 20 litre removable grey water container under the sink, and a 10 litre drinking water tank linked to a separate drinking tap. Audio Equipment: Cordelia Rose has wi-fi capability and a USB plug-in is available so you can play your own music. Type of Heating: Cordelia Rose has gas heating for the winter and two Maxxair fans to keep her cool in summer. Extra Information: Cordelia Rose’s owners love playing board games so she has a large storage drawer which is full of them. We’re happy to recommend some of the less traditional games we love, and to include some in your rental. She also has an outside table with a chess board, snakes and ladders and noughts and crosses printed on for spontaneous gaming fun. Dogs: We love dogs and welcome them into Cordelia Rose. We’ll provide a welcome basket for you and your furry friends. Conversion Story: Cordelia Rose began life as a highway maintenance vehicle complete with stripy back doors and a flashing orange light! She was lovingly converted by Zoe from Alternative Campers in Exmouth, who has become part of Cordelia’s family. She’s owned by Sarah who regularly goes away with her best mate Vicky so it was important for us that we created a space where friends could go adventuring together comfortably. We love being out in nature and our happy place is a Devon woodland in Spring, so we used that as an inspiration for designing her interior. We wanted her to feel like you were lying on a bed of moss gazing up at the trees, and we think Zoe got pretty close to that! She’s made of sustainable materials where possible, with French oak work surfaces and her wooden handles were turned by Vicky’s Dad, especially for her.
