About the area: Claudette is located just 10 miles from Gloucester, 17 miles from Cheltenham and 12 miles from Ross on Wye, making her the ideal Campervan for exploring the Cotswolds, the Wye Valley and South Wales. At only 30 minutes to the M5, Claudette is also convenient for those en-route to Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. There is a beautiful local campsite called Apple Orchard situated on the edge of the Village. We also recommend West End Farm Campsite (a small family-run site on an organic cattle farm adjacent to the River Severn, close to the Severn Way) and The Severn Valley Touring Caravan and Camping Site (a family-owned farm site in open countryside with Forest of Dean views, under 10 minutes’ drive from Newnham-on-Severn and 25 to Wye Valley). There is also a free overnight park-up in the nearby village in Broadoak by the White Hart pub, right on the river Severn. Description of Beds : Claudette can sleep up to 5 people; 4 adults, and 1 child up to 10. The master double bed measures 180 cm long by 140 cm wide. The single child bed, which is above the master bed, measures 150 cm long by 67 cm wide with a maximum weight of 50 kilos. The main seating area (sofa) pulls out into a small double bed and measures 175 cm long by 110cm wide. Description of Seating: Claudette takes 4 passengers, there are 3 belted seats in the front and one belted seat in the back, all have headrests and all belts are 3 point seatbelts. 4 people can comfortably fit sociably in the van, and 5 at a squeeze. Description of Electrical Setup: Claudette’s on-board solar system has a 260Ah AGM battery, a 350 W panel, a split charge relay connected to Van alternator, 4 USB charger points and a 12 V cigarette lighter type charging point. Claudette has also a 240 V hook up. There are motion sensor lights in lower cupboards. Parking: There are plenty of parking spaces in the village where Claudette is located, with no parking restrictions so you can leave your car while you stay in Claudette. If you come by train, Claudette's owner will be able to pick you up from Gloucester station subject to prior arrangement. Cooking Equipment: There is a full size gas cooker with 4 hobs, grill and oven to fit up to 3 pizzas at once or a roast dinner for 5 people or more. There is a 12 V 50L Vitrifrigo fridge with a 3.6L freezer compartment. It has an extractor fan above the cooker. Claudette comes with 4 dining enamel plates, 5 small enamel plates, 5 bowls, a kettle, a grater, 1 large salad bowl, 2 chopping boards, 1 pizza board, 1 large and 1 small coffee maker, 1 potato masher, 4 knives, 4 forks, 4 large spoons, 4 little spoons, 1 bottle opener, 1 tin opener, 1 peeler, 1 set of large cooking spatulas and spoon, 4 egg cups, 4 large plastic glasses, 4 enamel mugs, 4 stainless wine glasses, 1 pizza slicer, 1 colander, 1 bread knife, 2 kitchen knives, a small and a large frying pan with lids, 1 large saucepan with lid, 1 medium saucepan with 2 steamer compartments with lid, and 1 small saucepan with lid, 2 tea towels, 1 washing up rack with a tray, 1 dustpan and brush, 1 small recycling bin, 1 small landfill bin, bin bags, toasting/grilling rack, 2 oven trays, Ecover washing up liquid with brush and sponge, antibacterial hand wash. There will be a selection of herbs, spices and oils, salt and pepper, Tabasco sauce, soy sauce, honey, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, brown sauce, white and brown sugar sachets, tea bags, earl grey tea bags, various Pukka herbal tea bags, ground coffee, hot chocolate, and a complimentary bottle of sparkling water. Water and Sanitation: There is an underslung 70L tank which supplies water to the kitchen sink and the onboard shower via a 12 V pump. The hot water is heated by an Imass gas instantaneous water heater with a level indicator so that you know when you need to fill the tank up. There is a hosepipe to connect to an outdoor tap to fill up the tank from the outside, and a removable waste water container to position under the van. There is also an optional portable toilet with a pop-up tent to be set up outdoors if desired as an add on. Audio Equipment: In the front of the van there is a touchscreen head unit with integrated bluetooth, auxiliary input, internet browser sat nav, front camera and rear camera to help reversing. Video is recorded while driving and Claudette is equipped with a tracker for safety. In the rear of the van, there is another stereo amp with bluetooth, auxiliary input and USB input with 3 Technics speakers. Type of Heating: Claudette has a Propex gas heater with a digital thermostat so it can be left on and will automatically start when the temperature goes below a set level. The gas is refillable with Autogas as Claudette is equipped with an underslung LPG tank with a level indicator, the tank will always be full or pretty much full so you won’t need to worry about filling it up. Extra Information: The village is 5 minutes away from a mini golf and 10/15 minutes drive to the forest of Dean which has a lot to offer for walking and cycling. You can hire bikes from Pedal Bike Away and there are miles of bike trails throughout the forest, some suitable for all the family and others for off-road advanced cyclists. There is also a popular park Called Beachenhurst which offers tree climbing activites at Go Ape. Other touristic attractions nearby include, The International Centre for Birds of Prey, Perrygrove for treehouses, trains and treasure, Clearwell caves and Puzzle wood, a magical woodland which inspired the famous author J.R.R Tolkien. A bus service is available if needed to the village from Gloucester, the bus stop is minutes away from where Claudette is parked, there is also a train station in Gloucester. Pet Information: Pets are welcome in the van, on the floor and in their own beds, but not on the sofa or the bed please. Conversion Story: Claudette has taken over two years to complete, taking up evenings, weekends and lots of free time. Claudette belonged to an antique furnisher restorer before becoming a campervan, so has been well maintained and looked after. Claudette is an elegant and practical home on wheels with a spacious feel, able to sleep up to 5 people, (including a young child) but would also be ideal for a couple who want some extra indoor space. Claudette has a large storage space above the cab and 2 more cupboards at head height. There are also 4 draws and further storage under the bed accessible from the back doors. All electrical and gas items in the van are high quality items. Claudette has been built entirely by its owner Claude and is a labour of love. The interior has been built using mainly birch and poplar ply. Its unique exterior colour scheme is bright and fun which is important as we like her to stand out from the crowd!
