Sully

About the area: Sully is based in the ‘Steel City’ of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Sully is approximately 15 minutes away from the Peak District National Park. Known for its breathtaking scenery, landscapes, and landmarks, including; Ladybower Reservoir, Kinder Scout, Mam Tor, Edale, The Pennine Way, The Hope Valley, Blue John Cavern, Winnats Pass, Eyam, Castleton, Chatsworth House, and Bakewell to name just a few! The legendary Snake Pass gives us easy access to Glossop and Manchester and onto the Lake District and the West coast of Scotland. You can head South if you want to explore Wales and the South West including Devon & Cornwall. If none of those appeal to you there’s easy access to the M1 and A1 for driving North to the Yorkshire Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and Northumberland. Whether you want to walk, run, ride, paddle, photograph or just enjoy your surroundings either on or off-grid, Sully is a great choice to get you there and back again. Description of Beds: Sully sleeps up to four people; two downstairs in the sofa/double bed and two in the pop top, which can also be used without the bed pulled down for extra headspace and room during the day. The double bed measures approximately 126 cm x 190 cm. Description of Seating: Sully is ideally suited to two or a maximum of three people. Sully has three belted seats in the front (including the driver) with two headrests (driver and passenger). Sully does not have any Isofix mounting points. The central headrest has been removed to make it easier to access the pop-top (an air mattress is available for the pop-top as an optional extra should you need this.) With the double bed in the rear and pop-top double, you can sleep two adults, two kids, or four people. Once you’ve arrived at your destination Sully can easily seat 4 people on the sofa-style seating in the rear of the vehicle around the beautiful folding oak table – great for games, dining and remote working. Description of Electrical Setup: Sully is perfectly suited to campsite stays with an electric hook-up and 13 amp plug socket, or fully off-grid adventures with the 150w Victron Solar Panel, topping up the 100ah Roamer lithium battery. Sully has a wireless charger, USB 3, and USB Type C charging sockets, plus a visual battery/power metre. These are all managed by a high quality Victron electrical system – which is accessible at the rear of the vehicle. If you need more power there is a Jackery Explorer 240 Portable Power Station and Jackery Solar Saga Portable 100w Solar Panel available as optional extras to keep you off-grid for longer. Parking: Unsecured parking is available for free when if you drive to collect Sully. You are welcome to park on the street (at your own risk) or park your vehicle on our driveway. If you come by train, we are a 15 minute cab drive away from Sheffield station. Cooking Equipment: Sully has a twin gas hob inside the van and everything you need including pots, pans, plates, bowls, cutlery, utensils, mugs, glasses, chopping board, bottle opener/corkscrew, tin opener. Sully comes with washing up liquid, hand sanitiser, dishcloth, tea towel, dish drainer/mat, plus bin bags and a dustpan and brush. Sully also comes with a welcome pack containing essentials for your trip such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, salt, pepper, and oil. As optional extras, we also have a portable (and very clever) Anevey Rocket Stove - perfect for a brew or cook-up on the beach, and a twin Cadac two-cook pro portable burner if you’d like to cook outside the van. Water and Sanitation: Sully has a cold-water drinking water system. There is a 10-litre removable water tank in the cupboard near the sink that supplies water to the sink via a pump. Sully has two more 10-litre water tanks carrying up to 30 litres of fresh water in tanks which are kept clean and sanitised regularly. Hot water for washing or washing up can be heated via the kettle and gas hob. We provide various grey water options plus a collapsible bucket. We have a Colapz external cold water shower available as an optional extra should you wish to wash the sand off your feet or mud off your bike. Sully has a Thetford 335 portable toilet which is neatly stored away in a cupboard inside the van when not in use. Audio Equipment: Sully has a standard Volkswagen touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth, DAB and CD player, plus a phone holder for use of Google maps via your mobile phone. In the rear of the van there is a small cream retro FM/DAB radio with 13 amp power and battery options. Type of Heating: Sully has a fantastic Webasto blown-air heating system which is powered via the diesel fuel tank so you can adventure all year round and stay warm! Extra Information: Sully has been featured on Channel 5’s Million Pound Motorhomes! Sully is named after Suilven – one of Scotland’s best-known and most easily identified mountains. Sully’s owners Aimee & Pete are seasoned van-lifers. We became the very proud owners of Sully in July 2023. Sully is a pleasure to drive and can be driven on a standard car licence and comes with a welcome pack containing some key essentials for your trip.
