Zephyrus

About the area: Zephyrus lives on a driveway just outside a small town called Halstead, surrounded by the stunning countryside of North Essex and close to the border of Suffolk. The A1, A12, M11 and M25 are all driveable within an hour, making it easy to find your way around the country. If you are opting to take the van abroad, Dover & Folkestone are around 2 hours away, and Harwich is less than an hour away. Description of Beds: Zephyrus will comfortably sleep 3 people (depending on their size). There is a fixed king-size bed in the back with notches cut around the windows, providing extra headroom for those around 6ft, so no need to faff around making a bed in the evenings. The doors can be opened on the inside so you can enjoy the sunrise from the comfort of the bed with a coffee. There is then a third single bed that uses the seating of the van and a memory foam topper; this bed would be most suitable for children or a small adult. Anyone over 5ft 8” would not be the most comfortable here. Description of Seating: In the front, there are 3 belted seats, including the driver. In the back, there is seating for 3 people to relax or dine with the use of the pull-out table. Description of Electrical Setup: Zephyrus has 2x 100 Ah batteries topped up by the 2x 120w solar panels to keep you going off-grid for several days. A 2000w inverter keeps laptops and other devices charged and lets you make smoothies with the Nutribullet that's included. There are 4x 240v plugs with 4x USB-As that can be used when the inverter is on. 4x USB-As are present in the living area that can be used at any time, and 2x USB-As are up front in the cab for use when driving. There is a hook-up located under the bonnet for when you’re on a campsite, which will charge up the driving battery as well as the leisure batteries. Parking: When collecting Zephyrus, just swap the cars around and leave your car on our driveway, which is locked at night. Cooking Equipment: Zephyrus comes with everything you need to cook up a feast. There is a full-size two-hob kitchen burner inside with a full-size sink. Kitchen equipment includes, 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 mugs, 4 glasses, various cutlery, tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener, a sharp cooking knife, chopping board, a kettle, a large cast-iron frying pan, a medium saucepan, and there is also a French press for those slow mornings. For cleaning, there is hand soap, washing-up liquid, a couple of pot brushes, and a few tea towels. Water and Sanitation: Zephyrus features a 65-litre underslung fresh water tank with a charcoal filter that supplies drinking water to the sink and water to the outdoor shower. There is an 8-litre electric and propane water heater that can be used with a hookup or off-grid. The wastewater is fed into a 50-litre underslung grey water tank, which can be emptied with the tap at an appropriate disposal point. Finally, there is a removable porta-potti with its own sliding mechanism situated beneath a seat. To help keep Zephyrus tidy, a portable vacuum cleaner is included. Audio Equipment: Zephyrus has the factory head unit with Bluetooth and USB plug-in for music up front, and in the back, a portable Bluetooth speaker is included. Type of Heating: A 4KW Whale propane heater has been fitted, and with each wall and ceiling insulated, it keeps the living space warm even during the coldest winter nights. Due to the many windows fitted to Zephyrus, he has custom window covers that utilise magnets for ease of use; these will help regulate the living space's temperature and block out any light. Pet Information: Pets are allowed; however, please only one small pet. Please ensure they are kept off the seat cushions to avoid rips and tears. Extra Information: To keep your valuable items safe, there is a locking safe found under the driver's seat, and both of the large kitchen drawers are lockable from the side. Conversion Story: Zephyrus started life as a commercial vehicle, which was purchased as a lockdown project back in 2020. He was converted in meticulous detail by his owner, Elliot, and his father, using Elliot's design background and his father's DIY skills. Elliot has tried his best to make the space as practical as possible, using the underside of the van for the water tanks, heater, and propane tank. Elliot wanted the van to be fully liveable and not too small for people around 6ft, which he found his old T25 to be. The kitchen is a comfortable height for cooking, and so is the table for dining and working. Solid oak has been used for the hard-wearing surfaces such as the kitchen top, dining table, and floor, and a minimal approach to design has been used throughout to make it feel as homely as possible. Zephyrus is regularly serviced and well looked after, ensuring that you have a pleasant journey wherever he may take you. I'd say my favourite thing about Zephyrus is the king-size bed in the back; being able to just jump in after a long drive or day out is the best.
