About the Campervan

About the area: Robin is based in the lovely market town of Dursley, situated halfway between the cities of Bristol and Gloucester, easily accessible from the M5 and served by a train station in the neighbouring town of Cam. Dursley is right on the edge of the Cotswolds Aonb, the world-famous 'Cotswolds Way' is only a stone's throw away. There are so many beautiful walks with stunning 360 views right on the doorstep, along with two National Trust properties within a fifteen-minute drive and camper-friendly places to set up for the night nearby. If you plan to go further afield, quaint Cotswold towns aren't far away, head south to Devon and Cornwall, or just 30 minutes away you can cross the Severn Bridge which will take you into South Wales. The world is your oyster when you are travelling in Robin! Description of Beds: Robin sleeps an impressive 6 people, at night a transformation occurs; two double beds are created from the bench seats, one of them measuring 170 cm x 135 cm, and the other, 120 cm x 175 cm. one is slighty narrower than a standard double and the other slightly shorter than a standard double , please make sure this is suitable for your needs.. Two children's bunks appear as if out of nowhere, both measuring 176 cm x 63 cm. Please note there is a 9 stone weight limit for the children's bunk beds. Description of Seating: Robin has a grand total of 7 belted seats. 3 of these are in the cab, and there are a further 4 belted rear-facing seats with headrests in the rear of the van. Children's car seats are to be used in the cab. We designed Robin to be able to seat up to 10 people in the converted part of the camper for relaxing, 4 along the rear travelling seats and three along each bench seat at the rear. It makes for a lovely sociable space during the day. It is also a very flexible space, just as well suited for a solo traveller or couple, as it is for a large family. For couples/solo travellers, the rear bed can be made up as a fixed bed for your travels and the belted seats used for relaxing and eating. For families, it is great to have full access from the rear and side doors for all the kids coming and going! Description of Electrical Setup: The vehicle is fitted with a 100AH lithium battery which is charged in three ways, via the solar panel on the roof, while you are driving, also when plugged into the electric hook-up point on the side of the van. There is one 240V 3-pin plug-in point which works when hooked up. There are four ceiling lights and two wall lights, all can be switched independently, which can create a real cosy feel in the evenings. When you need to charge your phone or iPad there are four USB charging points. Parking: If you will be driving to collect Robin you are welcome to park your car in the spot she is normally parked in, which is in a quiet residential cul-de-sac. There is also a train station in the neighbouring town of Cam and pickup can be arranged subject to availability at a pre-arranged time. Cooking Equipment: In addition to the two gas hobs inside, Robin has everything you could need to cook up a delicious meal; including 6 mugs, 6 deep dishes suitable for any meal, cutlery for 6, 2 plastic wine glasses, 6 plastic water cups, a chopping board, a set of sharp knives, scissors, a lighter, a kettle, griddle pan and small frying pan, tall pan and a large pan, a tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener, salad bowl, serving spoon and two small side plates. Robin also has a stove-top espresso maker, a colander, and small dustpan and brush. Water and Sanitation: Robin has an outdoor shower available to hire as an extra. Aside from this there is a cold drinking water tap in the camper itself connected to a pump in the removable water tank stored under the rear seats. There's also a toilet available to hire as an add on which can be stored under the travelling seats to be pulled out and used in the main living area of the van. Type of Heating: Robin will keep you cosy on those cooler days with the diesel heater that heats the van nice and quickly! Pet Information: Robin is well behaved, toilet trained pet friendly. Conversion Story: We are Robin’s owners and we run a campervan conversion company - WildNest Camper Conversions. We also have 5 children, and thought that fitting us all into a long-wheelbase van would never be possible, however as time went on we found layouts we felt could work for our family and finally decided on the design! Now a van that only lived in our imaginations is very real! We hoped that by building Robin adventurous, larger families could have the chance to live out their camper dreams, and get out in nature. Renting Robin to Quirky customers supports us to do the same with our own raucous family. We wanted our van to feel spacious and usable during the day, and to feel as homely for a couple on adventures as well as a larger family. We really feel we have delivered with Robin, due to our innovative bunk design it certainly doesn't feel crowded with beds. So whoever you are and whatever your family set-up we are sure Robin will make you feel right at home. We specialise in creating a home-from-home atmosphere and have kept the interior calm and welcoming using comforting neutral tones to help you unwind. We have installed wall lights to create a cosy evening vibe for after sundown, and four ceiling lights that fill the space with light when needed. There is a small fold-up table for the youngest travellers who may struggle to eat dinner on their lap, or fancy doing some colouring in or a puzzle, it's also a great space for popping a drink on or sitting at to chop veggies. Everything is handbuilt and handpainted to perfectly fit the space by us here at WildNest, we use reclaimed and natural materials wherever possible, including a real wood floor, drawers rescued from an antique desk and a local leather worker makes our blind straps. We truly love what we do, hopefully that's clear to see from the photo gallery, and we can't wait to give you a warm welcome.

We had a wonderful stay in Robin! We were slightly apprehensive about our first camp with our 2yo but he was super comfortable in Robin (slept 12hrs!). The van has everything you need for a great off-grid stay. Kathryn couldn't have been more helpful and there are short videos to explain how everything works which was great for novices! Thoroughly recommend for both rentals and conversions :)
