About the area: Bluey lives in beautiful Bristol, with direct public transport connections to London and other cities. If you come by train, Bluey is an easy taxi ride from Bristol Parkway or Bristol Temple Meads train stations. Bristol has great links to major motorways headed into Wales, the North or South-West of England. You can also explore the surrounding areas of Somerset, Gloucester and Bath. Description of Beds: Bluey sleeps two adults in a comfortable double bed, and two small children aged 0 - 2 and 0 - 5. She has a double fixed bed measuring 185 cm by 135 cm, a bunk bed that is suitable for a toddler and a countertop that hosts a clipped-in moses basket. Description of Seating: There are two fixed belted seats in the front cab and two in the main cab. A slimline child car seat is available as an optional extra for the duration of your hire, subject to availability. Description of Electrical Setup: Bluey has two powerful batteries, a regulator and an inverter, which means you will almost certainly not need to charge her leisure batteries at any point. She has 12V power (for USB connections off-grid) and 240V power (for plugs when on electrical hook-up - cable supplied). The electrics are charged by the engine while you drive (through the split-charge relay) or via mains hook up when you are at a campsite. Bluey also has parking sensors making her easy to drive and manoeuvre. Parking: There is free parking on our residential street. If you are arriving by train, the van is parked a 5 minutes taxi drive from Bristol Temple Meads station. Cooking Equipment: Bluey has a lovely kitchen space, with a fridge and freezer compartment, wooden worktops, aluminium sink and a two-burner gas hob. Bluey has all you need to cook an amazing feast including; tableware for four, chopping board, salad bowl, stove top kettle, cafetiere, frying pan, 2 saucepans, wooden spoons, knives, a tin opener, corkscrew, bottle opener, colander, small dustpan and brush and washing up supplies. Water and Sanitation: Bluey has cold running water and comes with an optional heated outdoor shower. She has a total of 75L fresh water capacity in the garage in the form of 1 large container, this is easy to access and fills up under a tap or with a garden hose. Grey water is collected under the sink and can easily be monitored and emptied when full. A portable toilet is available as an optional extra. Audio Equipment: In the cab, Bluey has an entertainment system/ digital radio with bluetooth and DBS. Pet Information: We please advise that hirers don’t bring pets. Conversion Story: Bluey started life in 2016 as a very well-maintained and looked after service van. Her hand-crafted conversion was completed in April 2022. Bluey was designed and created with style and practically in-mind, using sustainable, natural and organic methods and materials that are built to last. Her plywood cupboards, cork insulation curved edges, Farrow and Ball hand painted cupboards and multiple large windows help to complete her natural, light and airy style. With her powerful electric setup, comfortable bed, cold fridge and running water, she is fully kitted out for a luxurious multi-day off grid adventure, but she is equally at home on campsites if you don’t want to go too far from the beaten track.
