About the Campervan

Description of Beds: Sleeping two adults, the fixed double bed, length 6'2 width 4'4 is perfect for an adventure couple. The bed is raised so it is accessed by a step up from the bench seat. All bedding is included for a comfy stay. Description of Seating: Three belted seats in the front (including driver) with headrests, however we recommend the middle seat is used best as a portal to the main living area. Once folded it has a flat table top which provides a great spot for eating lunch with a view out the front windows. The main living area again best suits two adults, there is a bench seat for two, here there is a swivel table with a handmade resin river top which can be removed for extra space when changing for example or fixed in position for meal times. Lastly, the fixed double bed with TV at the back of the living area provides an excellent evening chill out spot to hide out when the weather isn't at its best. Description of Electrical Setup: Sonny has 2x 110 amp hour batteries which are charged by the vans alternator. With a digital display in the main cupboard in the living space users can keep track of their usage easily. Hook up connection is also available for longer site stays. 4 USB positions in the living area available when stationary and 3 available for use in front when driving. There is a socket in the kitchen area which is 240v connected directly to a 1kW inverter. About the area: Sonny lives just 10 minutes outside of Glasgow. Parking: If you drive to collection, you are welcome to leave your car in Sonny's normal driveway spot. We have extremely handy bus and train links so you can get in touch for help finding us or to discuss the potential of collection from an agreed alternative location. Cooking Equipment: Sonny has everything you could ask for; 2 ring hobs, 2 traditional tin mugs, sustainable wheat straw (4 cups, 4 large plates, 4 side plates, 4 cereal bowls), and the all important 2 whisky cups and 2 gin goblets. A fully furnished cutlery drawer including chopping knives, cooking utensils, bottle/wine opener, scissors and tin opener. The overhead cupboard contains a chopping board, a whistling kettle, and a baby espresso maker with hob attachment, large pot and a small wok.. Last but not least, Sonny has a wonderful built-in wine rack and a dometic fridge to keep all your food and snacks chilled. Water and Sanitation: In the main living space hidden within the bench seat Sonny does have a porta potti toilet for those emergency moments. Cold water is supplied by pump to the kitchen tap from a 25L tank in the unit under the sink which is easily filled with a hose or removed to fill. The sink drains to an 18L grey waste tank under the van which can be easily emptied via a valve. Audio Equipment: Sonny has the main van radio for audio only. However there are plenty of charging ports for Bluetooth speakers etc. Type of Heating: Sonny is equipped with a diesel heater which is located under the bench seat and blows into the main living area. The controller for heating is on the kitchen area wall and also has a remote. The diesel tank is separate to the main fuel tank, it is mounted on the inside of the rear door for easy filling. Extra Information: Sonny has already visited many Scottish Islands providing the perfect haven when exploring the wilds of the Outer Hebrides and our trusty base when we chased the sunset cycling around our local Isle of Cumbrae. The fixed bed was an important feature for us to avoid any daily setup routines and it provides ample space for our paddle boards, mucky boots, firewood etc. We have recently invested in front window covers which keeps the living area feeling spacious whilst maintaining privacy and warmth in the evenings. The storage for clothing above the head of the bed can be deceiving at first glance, but we find it much easier to unpack our rucksacks into it before we set off to keep the place tidy and organised. Conversion Story: Sonny was bought at the start of March 2020 and conversion completed by summer. The mountain mural on the back wall was completed by a friend based on a photo we took on one of our first hikes together. We enjoyed every part of converting Sonny into our perfect getaway and hope that you enjoy your travels in it too. Our only confession is that in fact our dog nephew Ted proudly pictured has actually somehow managed to spend more nights in the van than us due to his insistence on joining various family members as they have taken Sonny for a spin.... and how could we say no to him!

Super comfortable bed. Really nice for it to be fixed and not have assemble it every time. Nice sitting area and table that can be changed into a nice dog bed when you’re on the road. Super friendly when we gave him back. Lovely
