About the Campervan

About the area: Bonnie is parked in beautiful Edinburgh and is ideally located to explore Scotland, including the Highlands and the Islands. Lochs, mountains, and beaches are all on our doorstep. Do the North Coast 500 or venture further afield; Scotland is beautiful wherever you go. Bonnie lives in Edinburgh and is parked on our driveway. It's 20 minutes into the city centre and about 20-25min to Edinburgh airport. The city bypass is only 5 min away, so you can head off from there in any direction. Description of Beds: Bonnie sleeps up to 3 adults. A double bed (135x200cm) pulls out and transforms from a sofa into a bed. It has a high-quality, firm futon mattress. The slide-out design is super simple; there's no need to dismantle anything or remake the bed. It also means you have a proper mattress to sleep on. The third bed is a single camp bed with an additional mattress on top; it's 190cm long and 90cm wide. The camp bed is comfortable for adults and children and takes about 2-3min to set up. Bonnie sleeps up to three people: two on the pull-out double bed and one on the camp bed. Description of Seating: Bonnie can fit up to three people. The front cabin has three seats with seatbelts, including the driver. In the back, you will find two fixed bench seats and one foldable chair to seat three people around the dining table comfortably. The table is handmade from flamed sycamore and pulls out from underneath the bed. For more relaxed seating, cuddle up on the sofa; it's super comfy in both positions (bed and sofa). When in the sofa position, the clever design also creates loads of room in the van. Description of Electrical Setup<:/b> Bonnie has a 12V system, including a leisure battery on two 150V solar panels. There's also a 600W inverter for running 240V appliances like a laptop or small blender. Bonnie has 4 USB charging points in the back and 2 in the cabin. There are many great lighting options for creating the perfect atmosphere, whether dining, cooking, reading or socialising. Bonnie has a 25-litre chest fridge that runs on the 12V system. There's a roof vent with a fan above the cooking area for efficient air extraction. Parking: If you drive to collect Bonnie, you are welcome to leave your car in her usual spot in our private driveway. Cooking Equipment: We like to cook, so Bonnie's kitchen is well-equipped and has everything you need, including pots, pans, cutlery, cups, glasses, plates, bowls, sharp knives, utensils and more. There's a large sink, drying rack, and plenty of space for food prep. In addition to the two gas hobs, there's a small gas oven. Bonnie has everything you need to cook up a feast, including a stove-top espresso maker and handheld milk foamer for the perfect cappuccino or latte. The large sink makes washing up easy, and everything you need to clean up is stored underneath, like dishcloths, bin liners, washing-up liquid, a small dustpan and a brush. Water and Sanitation: Bonnie has running cold water supplied by a 30l removable fresh water tank stored underneath the sink. To heat water, simply use the large kettle. We have a removable camping toilet you can hire, which can be stored in the boot or tucked away in its own space in the main living area. Audio Equipment: Bonnie has a radio and CD player in the front cabin. A Bluetooth speaker is available, too, so you can play your own music in the front or the back. Type of Heating: The efficient diesel heater gets the van super cosy in no time, even in the coldest winter. We travel in Bonnie all year round. Simply top up the tank with diesel at a petrol station. Pet Information: You are welcome to bring your pet. Just bring everything you need to keep your pet happy and Bonnie tidy and clean :) Extra Information: Bonnie was designed for year round off-grid living. You don't need to use campsites if you don't want to. Bonnie has been lived in, worked in, travelled in, and taken to festivals, campsites, and hiking trips. She was built using a lot of nice materials, including sheep's wool and a range of beautiful woods, while also keeping the weight down. The space was meticulously designed to be comfortable and flexible and cover all essential needs. If you're worried about storage, we can put you at ease. There's cupboard space everywhere, including underneath and behind the bench seats, above and beside the bed, above the kitchen unit and behind the bulkhead. There's also a shoe rack beside the door. We've not yet managed to use all the storage space available. One of our favourite features is the wee slide-out bench (in Scottish Elm) beside the door, where you can sit and enjoy your coffee outside. The garage space is accessible from the front or back, which is super handy on a cold and rainy day. The bulkhead has a sliding window and door into the cab to allow more light during the day, but it can be closed off for privacy and heat at night. We have custom-made window pads for further insulation at night. They fit so well that from the outside, you'd barely know someone is in the van. The cladding inside the van is beautiful and made from primarily Scottish larch but also Siberian larch, Wych Elm, Beech and Cedar. Conversion Story: Before being converted to a camper van, Bonnie was used to deliver biscuits from a small Scottish biscuit factory. In 2021, she was converted by a carpenter and furniture designer who, at the time, specialised in building tiny off-grid homes. He spent a lot of time on the design, layout and lighting. He's thought of everything - especially since he decided to live in the van full-time for over a year. We absolutely love the clever interior and couldn't come up with a single way to improve its layout. Whilst perfect inside, Bonnie has some slight imperfections on the outside. There's some paint flaking off (as seen in the pictures), and she'll need a respray at some point. We're not bothered by this, but we wanted to mention it in case you're after perfect paintwork, in which case Bonnie is not for you. About the Owner: We're a family of 5 from Edinburgh, and whilst the older teenagers mostly do their own thing these days, the rest of us love taking Bonnie on adventures around Scotland. We love exploring the quieter areas and are still blown away by the beauty of the Highlands and Islands. Whenever we return from a trip, we say, "We need to do this more often!" But then family life gets busy, and since there's no point having Bonnie sit all alone in our driveway, we'd love to share her with you and hope she'll bring you as much joy as she brings us.

Hi, we're a family from Scotland and lucky to own what we consider the best-designed camper van out there :) We don't always have the time to go on as many adventures as we would like so we love sharing Bonnie with others.

We recently had a fantastic week long holiday with Bonnie touring the west coast of Scotland from Lochinver in the north heading down to Glencoe. The van is extremely comfortable for two people and had everything that we needed - in particular the heater was much appreciated during the colder nights and the ability to turn it off and on without getting out of bed was a bonus. Picking up and dropping off the van was also extremely easy and Julia was very helpful before and even during the trip in answering our many questions. I hope we will get the chance to hire Bonnie again in the future to tour some more of bonnie Scotland. Many thanks
