About the Campervan

Description of Beds: Newly fitted in the summer of '22 Oscar has been built to accommodate 3 people (2 adults / 1 child) with an extended width double bed that converts into a seating area, along with a pop up table to eat, work & play on. The extra small single bed (suitable for a child up to age 5) pops out from an extendable bed frame by the side passenger door. The beds are made up / taken down in just 1 min, and have comfortable cushioned mattresses with reading lights / USB chargers & 2 plug points within easy reach for convenience. Oscar Wild boasts a large extra length double, plus 1 small single. It will sleep 2 adults and 1 child. The double is 193 cm by 132 cm. Single bed 150 cm by 60cm with a bed guard. Both beds easily convert to seating areas during the day. Description of Seating: Oscar Wild seats up to three passengers in belted seats. Up to four people can sit round the table comfortably. The front twin passenger seat flips around to face the interior of the van & has its own pop up table (stored behind the driver’s seat) which opens up the whole interior of the van, acting as extra seating for visitors. There is a black curtain to separate the interior from the cab, if extra privacy is required, thermal screens for the windscreen / side windows, black roller blinds for the side doors & curtains for the barn doors at the back. We have installed an extractor fan above the kitchen, a pop up opening hatch in the roof & two small side tinted windows (one of them opening) either side of the double bed for viewing & ventilation purposes. Description of Electrical Setup: Oscar Wild has a huge 2 x 12v battery system with a split charge relay device which charges as you drive. There are also solar panels on the roof to allow off-grid use at anytime, allowing you to switch from one to the other via the ignition, easily. Oscar has also been fitted with a Sine converter to allow the use of plug-in electronics, whilst being completely off-grid. About the area: Oscar Wild lives in central Brighton and is parked on a quiet residential street. Any hirers are welcome to park on the same street, however there is a charge for parking vouchers. Parking: If you drive to collect Oscar, you are welcome to leave your car on the quiet residential street we normally park on. We will provide you with the necessary parking vouchers at a charge. Alternatively you are free to park on the edge of Brighton in a quiet residential area, where there is no charge. If you come by train, Oscar's owners will be able to pick you up from Brighton station. There is a reversing camera fitted, a SAT Nav plus back windows in the barn doors (just open the curtains) to navigate with ease. Oscar is able to fit into any normal parking space and make it through the restrictive parking barriers at supermarkets (trust us, we've tested them all!) so you can rest assured you won't have to make special arrangements, get in a fluster making 10 point turns or search for suitable places to park when out and about in public! Cooking Equipment: Oscar has a beautifully equipped kitchen with a bespoke made, hand finished worktop which matches both pop up tables. It comes complete with a black two-burner gas stove, a gorgeous black sink with a copper tap, an extra cover for the sink to extend the worktop space and an extra extendable pull out worktop to use on the left hand side if needed. There are 3 overhead cupboards which house all your crockery in supplied melamine (so it won't break!) plus drinking vessels of every description & a water jug. The cupboards & drawers below the sink have all the amenities you need including two pots and pans (2 large, 2 small), 1 large wok, cutlery for 4 and a cafetiere. A kettle for stove, all utensils, washing up bowl and drainer, sieve, colander, chopping boards, caddy, salt and pepper, herbs and spices in a magnetic spice rack, chopping knives, 4 plates / bowls / side plates in melamine. 1 mixing bowl, 1 large salad / fruit bowl, cool bag. 4 melamine camping mugs, 4 plastic drinking glasses, 4 plastic wine glasses, tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener and a toasting rack that you can use over the gas hob as well as a small dustpan and brush. Opposite the kitchen is a brand new fridge with a small freezer compartment to store all your perishables with an extra cushioned seating area positioned above it, which converts to the extra small single bed. To the side of this seat is a small extendable table, which conveniently pops out the side of the van, to place drinks or food on when sitting outside. Water and Sanitation: There is an outdoor shower hose running cold water only from a 50L tank. A fully equipped portaloo is stored here, along with 2 x pop up camping chairs & tables, a parasol for shade, the all important BBQ & a windbreaker for privacy. A removable portaloo is provided with chemicals to treat it. A water filter is provided to filter the water from the tank. The tanks are behind the driver's seat, driver's side, accessible easily by a second sliding door. Please note the portaloo and camping equipment are all chargeable extras should you need them, which can be added to your reservation at the time of booking. Whilst Oscar is 'pet friendly' we do request you notify us of any pets you wish to take away as this is at our discretion. The same goes for festivals. We are happy to accommodate most festivals so please get in touch to advise your plans prior to booking. Thanks for your understanding ;) Audio Equipment: Oscar Wild has a pioneer head unit and two pod speakers in the cab of the van. USB plug-in and bluetooth are both available so you can play your own music. Type of Heating: Oscar Wild has a diesel heater which works very well and makes him proper toasty on cold nights! Extra Information: Smoke and CO2 alarms fitted. Plus handheld hoover, toolkit and fire extinguisher. There is also a solar lantern and candle in case of power loss. A box of extras is included with pegs, string, white tack, hooks ETC. Along with the convertible bed, Oscar has ample space in the garage to store your belongings, in handy removable wicker baskets, that store on top of one another. We have made the garage easy to access from either the rear of the van or from the inside, just by lifting up the bench seats. Conversion Story: Oscar Wild wasn't so wild in his previous life as a school bus and eventually got bored of the routine. So in the summer of 2022 he was fully kitted out from scratch by 'Custom Conversions' according to our own spec/design and is now free to roam wherever and whenever his passengers choose to take him! His adventures are limitless and he has become a Very happy camper! ;) As Oscar’s owner I like nothing more than exploring new places, living 'off grid' & venturing to those 'off the beaten track' places whilst taking the road less travelled. It is my hope that our 'Oscar'' can help other intrepid travellers do the same, in their own personal travels & conquests ... ~ Adventure awaits....! ;)

Bob is a great van with a great double bed with proper mattress and stacks of storage underneath for supplies. I didn’t use the top bunk but I know kids would love it - all the furniture and fittings are really well thought out and built. I was using at a local festival which it was great for and no trouble getting out of a muddy field. Bob is big but drives really easy and is super low mileage with everything you would expect in a modern van. Owner also really easy to deal with 5 stars.
