Devi Ma

About the area: located in the sunny seaside town of Eastbourne, just minutes from the beach and the stunning South Downs, Seven Sisters and Beachy Head, where you can bask in the breath-taking views of the white cliffs. Devi Ma is parked in a quiet residential street, only 10 mins walk from Eastbourne station. Description of Beds: Devi Ma sleeps up to 3 people; two in the double and one in the small single, both full length, which can be kept out all day should you wish to lounge around even more without disturbing the space. Description of Seating: Three belted seats in the front (including driver) with headrests. Description of Electrical Setup: It features a 140AH leisure battery powered by 295W solar panel on the roof and comes with a mains hook up for campsites and Victron inverter for 230V power when off-grid. There are 6 ceiling spotlights, two brass reading lights and LED mood lighting at the foot of the bed under the built-in overhead cupboards which have rattan detail and leather handles. There are USB 12V phone charging points and plug sockets and Victorian style brass style light switches. Parking: If you drive to collect Devi Ma, you are welcome to leave your car in her normal spot. If you come by train, it's a short 10 min walk to the van. Cooking Equipment: In addition to an oven and the three gas hobs inside, there is a camping stove that you can use to cook outside. Devi Ma has everything you could need to cook up a feast, including 4 mugs, 4 cups, 3 bowls, 3 large dining plates, cutlery for 4, a chopping board, a kettle, small frying pan and a large and small saucepan. There are 2 wooden cooking spoons, 1 large spoon, 1 large sharp knife, 2 small sharp knives, a tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener, 2 tiffin containers and a small bowl. Devi Ma also has an Italian stove-top espresso maker that you can use over the gas hob as well as a colander, washing up bowl, drying mat/drainer, and small dustpan and brush. Water and Sanitation: There is a 48-litre water tank under the bed of Devi Ma that supplies drinking water to the sink via a pump, the tank requires a hose to top up. An outdoor shower powered by a pump with water heated via the kettle. A toilet is built in for ease when off-grid. Audio Equipment: Devi Ma has an audio unit and speakers in the front cab. USB plug-in and Bluetooth are both available so you can play your own music. Type of Heating: Devi Ma is equipped with a diesel heater for instant heat and wood-burning stove. Pet Information: Pets are allowed, but limited to one animal. I am happy to provide a dog bed, but pets are not allowed on the beds or seats. Conversion Story: Devi Ma was converted in 2023 by Wild Heart Campers after I spotted the beautiful design on Quirky. Liz and her builder take great care and attention to create really beautiful vans. With a few extras added to Devi Ma for even more comfort, I am now happy to share Her with you. Liz shares; "Wild Heart Camper vans are aimed at the more unlikely motorhome enthusiasts, who may never have thought van life could be for them. Campers that don't want to forgo cosiness and comfort and prefer a home away from home feel but with the freedom to wake up in by the ocean, in a forest or even up a mountain!" I am van-lover, festival goer, yoga/meditation teacher, therapist, dancer, freedom seeker and lover of life of over 25 years now... I love to create and renovate both homes and vans. My last van Lakshmi was a self-build, equally beautiful and made with love by a dear friend of mine. Truly a labour of love, hours were spent sourcing specific pieces of wood, copper, textiles, etc. for Lakshmi to be born. So much Love was poured into her that she wanted to be shared. She then became the base for my cafe, 'Love Cake & Chai', which I took to festivals and which popped up in homes and other venues with live music.
