About the area: Cyd is located on the driveway in a leafy suburb of Northwood, an easy 30 minute journey by tube from central London. With the M25, M40, M1 and M4 less than 20 minutes away Cyd will be ready and waiting to escape the city for adventures near and far. If you're flying in, Luton and Heathrow airports are both less than 30 mins away by Uber. Description of Beds: Cyd has a full-sized fixed king size bed (195x150cm) complete with memory foam mattress which will ensure a comfortable and relaxing night's sleep. Description of Seating: There are three belted seats in the front, and the option of a booster seat for youngsters. In the rear there is a pull-out fixed table and comfortable bench seating for 3. Description of Electrical Setup: Cyd is a fully fledged, tried and tested off-grid campervan, having travelled around Europe for over a year with her original owners as they toured the beaches of Portugal and Spain, chasing the surf as they went. There are 2 large solar panels on the roof which feed into a 1200w convertor, which supplies ample power for the lighting, fridge, USB sockets and 230v plug. Parking: You are very welcome to leave your own vehicle on the driveway during your booking. Cyd is Ulez compliant, but it is worth checking in advance whether your own car will need to pay for this extra charge. Cooking Equipment: If you love to cook and entertain - Cyd offers the perfect opportunity to do both! With its tall roof, and ample work surfaces, you have space to prep, cook on the new 2 ring gas hob, and enjoy without the chore of cleaning surfaces or putting beds away each time. Complete with an enviable selection of pots, pans and utensils, you'll be dining in style on Barebones enamelware and Anthropologie cutlery - a little luxury goes a long way! Coffee is a simply delightful brew, with the stove top coffee maker. Water and Sanitation: Cyd has an eco-friendly off grid compostable Trebolo - which uses sawdust instead of chemicals, and has a uniquely effective system that reduces all nasty odours - and prevents any spillage in transit. Type of Heating: You'll fall in love with Cyd's gorgeous little 'instagrammable' wood burning stove, which adds character and charm to your trip...however the recently installed wonderfully efficient diesel heater is definitely our recommended choice of heating! nb: Please advise when booking if you intend using the wood burner as an additional charge to cover insurance and supplies may be required. Pet Information: Dogs are very welcome - ours loves riding in the front cab with the seatbelt anchor attached to his harness - however we ask that they do not jump on the soft furnishings or the bed with muddy paws or food. Obviously we would also expect CYD to be thoroughly cleaned of any smells/pet hair when the it is returned, or an additional cleaning fee maybe charged. Extra Information: The paintwork is Farrow & Ball, the soft furnishings are Margot Selby for Habitat, the tins are Orla Keily, the orange teapot is from Liberty's - and there are numerous other little accessories included from Graham and Green, Anthropologie, Olive Bonas - and collected on our trips around the world, including a host of extras included to make your trip dreamy and comfortable! You can make the most of the warm evenings, using internal lighting and the fitted fly netting covering the side doors, with a magnetic entrance in the centre allowing for ease of entry and exit. The 4m long awning is a dream to set up, and provides shelter and shade, all year round. A set of lightweight but comfortable camping chairs and a table come with the van, as do windbreakers. There is also an extra large cool box (additional cost) which can be plugged in and used in addition to the internal fridge, although it drains the electricity so is not recommended in duller months. Conversion Story: Cyd started life as a project conceived, planned and executed by a wonderful young Australian couple on the other side of the world. Matt and Cyd (yes, I renamed the van in honour) bought the van, hired a container and workspace down in Plymouth, and set about dedicating 6 weeks of their lives to her creation. And boy, did they do a good job! As keen surfers, the van has enough garage space for 4 full size surf boards, and a safe that is hidden under the seating to hide away valuables whilst out on the waves. I have taken the original van and customised with my own unique brand of Quirkiness - adding all things bright and beautiful, as well as a window, full length Fiamma awning, rearview camera to name but a few.: After achieving a 'Superhost' status with my lovely little cabin on Airbnb I decided to look for my next project. As serious Festival goers - and after hiring a much smaller VW one for Wilderness - we knew exactly what we did and didn't want, including space for our energetic Viszla to join us on our trips.
