Stand out from the crowd with a holiday in beautiful Bean! If you’re looking for a Scottish adventure, look no further. Bean is the perfect travel companion to help you tick off all the stops on your Scottish road trip bucket list.

Whether you fancy a trip to Loch-Ness to go Nessie spotting, lose yourself in the highland hills, or take a chilly dip in the North Sea on one of Scotland’s picture-postcard beaches, Bean is ready to take you there.

Bean has been lovingly converted by experienced Quirky Campers owners, who welcome Bean as their third rental campervan. You can be sure that Bean has been carefully converted using their wealth of knowledge to be the perfect home away from home.

With her beautiful timber cladding, and blue-sky painted kitchen, Bean perfectly compliments the Scottish countryside that awaits you. Bean’s cleverly compact kitchen (complete with a fridge, and dual hob) will make cooking on the road a doddle. Bean is also built with off-grid adventures in mind, so there is nothing stopping you from heading off into the wild to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the North.

What are you waiting for? Pack your bags and let’s head for the Highlands!

About the Campervan

Description of Beds: Bean is a spacious two berth campervan. The fixed double bed is 135cm x 190cm and is topped with a proper mattress. Description of Seating: There are three belted seats in the front including the driver. We are unfortunately not able to rent you child seats, but there is a child seat rental in Edinburgh. The seats are NOT Isofix compliant. Description of Electrical Setup: Bean has multiple USB charging sockets and two regular 240-volt sockets. She has 350W of solar linked to 100Ah of lithium batteries to make you totally independent for multi-day off-grid adventures, including using 240v via an inverter. You can also hook up to the mains when at a campsite. About the area: Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, captivates with its rich history, stunning landscapes, and a harmonious coexistence of ancient charm and modern energy. Bean lives very close to the centre of Edinburgh so we are ideally placed for you to arrive by public transport. We are a five min taxi ride or twenty-minute walk from either Waverly or Haymarket station. Parking: If you are traveling by car to collect Bean, whilst we are in a residential parking zone, there is plenty of free on-street parking in a quiet residential location just a further short drive from where we are located. We can meet you there directly or we could meet you at home and then show you where to park. Cooking Equipment: Bean has a well-equipped kitchen. Pots and pans, chopping boards, knives, cafetiere, plates, bowls, utensils… everything you really need. For cooking, there is a dual gas burner hob, and to keep food fresh and beer cool, there is a 35lt fridge. Water and Sanitation: Bean carries 40lt of fresh water that is pumped through her kitchen tap, that can be pulled out to act as a shower head. There is also an outdoor shower tent using water heated from the stove. There is an indoor porta potti housed under one of the front seats. Audio Equipment: Bean has Bluetooth pairing for the audio system in the cab. Type of Heating: Bean is kept super warm by a powerful diesel heater that runs directly from Beans fuel tank, so no need for messy refueling. Conversion Story: After many years of gallivanting around Scotland with my partner Maria in a beloved classic VW from the 1970s called Bella, a friend and I bought a nearly completed and very much more dependable van. This is Isla, who is also available to hire through Quirky Campers. In getting Isla ready to rent, Maria and I gained the final bit of confidence we needed to channel our love and experience of off-grid Scottish van adventuring with years of practical build experience and create a new campervan from the ground up. The result of many months of hard work, lots of sweat, and some pain on both our parts is Tattie who you can also book through Quirky. Bean is our second build, we have learned much and we are very proud of her and we hope you enjoy traveling and living with her. Note on Booking FerriesRe booking ferries, Bean is actually registered as an LGV (Light Goods Vehicle) rather than a motorhome. It's a long and boring story as to hard it is to get motorhomes registered with Dvla, but on the plus side, that means there is a higher height limit on Calmac ferries than with campervans. So when you come to book, choose the LGV option. The website will then ask you for vehicle details, which because the site doesn't always recognise the registration number, you may have to enter manually. These are Registration - SM22GHB Make - Citroen Model - Relay Length - 5M Width - 2m Height - 2.6M Weight - 2800kg

Loves staying in Bean! Travelling up to Skye, bean offered a cosy home for us. Gavin was great for all communication, but also in briefing us with everything we needed to know ahead of our trip. Couldn’t recommend more!
